I think I know what that means. Condidering the name of the map is burial mounds, goin' ribs might be refering to the ribs of a skeleton. Maybe its the ribs of a very large skeleton that are sticking out of the ground somewhere on the map, perhaps the remains of a very large animal. Possibly Covenant/Alien? Goin' Ribs might be a saying that they came up with that describes the location of an enemie/teamate on the map.
Well, there's an earlier screenshot of Burial Mounds, remember? It shows the wrecked, charred hulk of a structure, probably a downed ship. Also, Frankfurter said "This one is strewn with wreckage from Covenant attack," about Burial Mounds in the article.
Though your animal idea would be kicktacular, and Bungie did want huge Dune-like worms in Halo back before the Microsoft assimilation.... that is... before Bungie cleverly took over Microsoft and graciously let them keep their old name.
