The Halo 1 forum is a sanctuary. It has been saved from the completely and utterly retarded mass-posting which is occuring in other forums. For any who have seen this mass-posting develop, you will know what I am talking about... "Cheaters suck in Halo 2", or "OMG OMG OMG These guys are cheating!!", or "This (weapon/aspect) of Halo 2 SUX!". sigh....

Thank you thank you Bungie for leaving the Library open.

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC

OMG cheaters suck in halo 2!!!!! its so -blam!-!!!!! Were is the pistol!!!!! i hate bungie!!!!!!! Halo 2 blowz!!!!!!!!

I didn't really intend to create any 'flaming-karma' towards the mass-posters mentioned. More like, I was just showing a sense of appreciation (via the written word), for the Library, and its relative isolation from the usual topics that many inter-forum posters have become aware of.

However, if this whole topic is out of context with the Library outline then I apologize...

Yeah I had a bit of trouble with that first post (post course-finals, so brain is a bit fried), but that makes things a lot clearer. I admit though, back when that february 9th rumour first came out, I did get a bit carried away with the flaming, so I can see where you are coming from with that. It never got really bad except for once, and I didn't feel any better afterwards. Now flaming is reserved for that really special someone who joins to post a -blam!- link, or spread racial karma.

I know there was talk right before Halo 2's release of how the Library would fade away and die, but hopefully it can keep going... (Still....can't...figure...out...Turret jump...on...AOTCR) heh.

I know what you mean. I remember seeing this video where a guy jumped a shade off of the AOTCR bridge using a plasma grenade. He made it to the bottom and was able to mess around with the dropship that came in. Needless to say my jaw drapped a whole 2 inches, and I went racing down to the xbox at first chance, but to this day I still can't figure it out....

I heard that you were actually able to jump on the back of the pelican if you time it right, and ride down with it, but I have never been able to do it. And I have never been able to see anyone else do it.

Yeah there is a vid posted showing the actual jump on AOTCR, but I swear, I mimic the guy to the letter, and nothing happens. Just goes to show how really hardcore the physics engine really is!

The Library is...intelligent. Why haven't I found this sooner. I gave up on these forums ever since the 9th when the Flood arrived.
