I've been wondering a few things about the reporting system. I have two questions. So first off, how do the moderators/ Bungie staff get the reports? Second, Do members have priorty report over each other (i.e. Mythic over Heroic) Thanks!

I doubt they'll give you the answers. Understanding a system is the first step to abusing it.

Agreed, but those are some very good questions you asked, OP.

Once the community figures out the report system, people will find a way to abuse it. Its sad. This is another reason why we we don't fully understand the trust system.

I admit, I would like to know the answers to your questions.

My opinion: I don't know how the trust system works, but I think that all reports are treated equally, wheter its from a Heroic Member or a Mythic Member. I am not sure on that one, but that is just my opinion.

Trying something once will increace your chances of success, because you tried it. Try someting twice, and your chances increase yet again - seeing as you've done it. Try something a few thousand times, and your chances of success is exponentially increased; this increase would likely provide success every time

From what I have read, the system alerts the mods with the 'Report Queue'. I'm guessing that messages are sent from the Soul to a secondary inbox of all the mods; then they can shift through what is real, what is fake, and determine actions from there. Your second question, I truly have no idea, it could go either way.

Edit: I also agree with Jeffers and Goodeye.

1. All the moderators have access to a place where Reported threads are then sorted out (I do not know where this place is on the site. But it's here). The moderators (any) can chose whether or not to lock the threads.

2. "Higher Ranked" members do not have priority over basic members. The only members with higher priority are Ninjas and Bungie Employees through out the entire site.

Alright thanks. Well I read that the moderators share a google mail account so perhaps the reports are transfered there?

I may have broken the report system last night in the Halo 3 forum and The Flood. The amount of spam was terrible.

The spam would've broken the site first...

Anyway, we'll never really know how the system works. Perhaps when we're all employees of the Bungie Empire, we'll know.

I reported stuff there for a while but another user told me they rarely used that account any more (That was a place to report stuff before the report button). The report button I'm pretty sure sends links to threads through the message system or something (I could be wrong). But I'm pretty sure it's not their google G-mail account.

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.

I'd like to report a bug, sometimes when I open threads the report button doesn't show up and, yes, they are recent threads.

Example

Alright. I mainly wanted to know about the priority.

Loose talk is noose talk.

Maybe because you've been a bad boy (banned). They remove your report button, but not the reply button... curious...
