I haven't been here on the Halo 2 forums in a while but I just wanted to say that I used to come here complaining about the Halo 2 ranking system and how screwed up it is...

It turns out I was right... So to all of you who posted saying I just wasn't a good enough player I have this to say...

WHY DO YOU THINK THEY CHANGED IT FOR HALO 3!!!!!!!

Ha ha ha... You lose lose lose... LOSE the argument!

And Halo 2 ranking system STILL sucks!

This post is nonsense, or a clever joke. Just because Bungie decides to change the ranking system does not mean you win or we lose whatever argument you had. Many people don't like the Halo 3 system, and just because Bungie says something does not mean it is perfect, or even any good at all. You say you posted on these forums before, but did you use reasons? Or did you just say, as in this post, that the system sucks and wait for an answer? Also, the way you phrased this makes it seem like your whole problem with the ranking system was that you could not get a high enough rank, which is kind of silly.

I don't want a high rank you idiot... I just want to play an even game where no overly high ranked guy comes in to screw the game up... Some games are over in Halo 2 before five minutes because there's a 40 playing with 10s... Get it? I'm not playing this game so I can be a professional gamer I PLAY IT FOR FUN!

That's why I say to all the people on here that used to argue about how cool the Halo 2 ranking system is were way wrong... BECAUSE so many people complained that they HAD to fix it for Halo 3...

Therefore I was right all along... It does suck...

BTW anderf if you want to see my other posts you can just click on the little button for my past posts and see all the arguments... There were only one or two people to defend me and everyone else just made fun of the whole thing... But history always shows who was right all along...

The H2 ranking system showed considerably more skill than the TrueSkill one used in H3. You can see this in many ways. First, there are definitely a lot more 50's in playlists, where in Halo 2 you would rarely find a legit person above 45. Also, in Halo 3 you can go in with a party (like in my case) and win countless number of games in a row (like on this account) and now go up one level. This is due to the TrueSkill Ranking system, where winning and winning hurts your chances of going up. I find that lame for many reasons, especially when you go into a game and see a person a higher level than you who has played less games but went in by themselves. Halo 2 allowed you to track your level game by game with the XP bar on Bungie. It took around 3 games to go up after you hit around level 28 or so and this is where some players got stuck and others went on and got to a higher rank.

^^ You seriously believe that people were not abo ve 45 because it was harder to rank up because of the ranking system? lol, no no no, no one was above level 45 legit becuase EVERYONE ABOVE 40 MODDED. You could not rank up in halo 2 becuase of the millions of children who decided to ruin the game and mod their xbox to win. and your point about how you liked watching your stat bar online, well the reason that was abolished for halo 3 was so the children of xbox live wouldnt have any extra motivation to go out and mod their xbox so that they can see compare their "beastly downloaded skill" to other people in the online community. It its now for the pure sake of your own knowledge of how you can compare to other gamers when you play them in game. and maybe to brag to real life buddies about how they suck :P

Overal H3 ranking system > H2 but im not saying its perfect.

Did you even READ my post? I don't care about levels or what my rank is... It's only fun when people are evenly ranked...

I just got done with another game where one guy had 25 before anyone else had 10 points... Everyone else from second place to last was even except for this one guy... That's typical of almost every game... Rarely does it end where it's even for the top 4 or 5 players...

THAT in the simplist terms is how most games go... And it's for silly nerds like you who keep trying to get their rank up... I want my rank to go DOWN just to have a fun game!

God it's like pounding your head against a wall to get anyone to see this...

The only time I really had fun playing Halo 2 was when I had to buy a new account because my old one expired... That's when for about a month I could play just for the fun of it...

No wonder people keep getting new accounts...

Alright buddy, I must be a nerd then. And to the previous guy who mentioned modding and cheating were holding everybody back from getting 50's, I don't think people reached level 50 in 50 games in Halo 2. All that I am saying is that the TrueSkill is inconsistent in showing skill compared to the old one.

Bungie changing things for the better? That doesnt seem right.

"Therefore I was right all along... It does suck... "

That you were right all along? Seriously though why dont you just play non ranked games for fun. if you dont want a high rank just dont play as well so you have a lower rank, maybe around a level 1 or 2.
