Mixing RAM speeds isn't beneficial...it's best to get the same speed, which may be your problem. Get 333MHz RAM to match the rest. Otherwise, weird things can happen...

Heyyo,

What usually happens is the faster ram downgrades to the speed of the slowest ram chip in the system. If you're unlucky and it fails, try removing the ram, if it loads up the system normally? odds are your ram's aren't compatible, sometimes it is, sometimes it isin't.

Dude, get RAM that is the same speed as the old RAM, or get all new RAM. Like I said, mixing RAM is generally bad. Try reinstalling Halo aas well (keep old savegame files, though).

The problem may not be your ram at all. Mixing ram speeds would not make your Halo crash like that. Mixing speeds would just slow your bus down to the speed of the slower ram. The only way the ram could be the problem is if you got a bad stick of ram. I think you should check your system specs and see if your computer even 'recognizes' the extra ram. If not check to see it you have it put in correctly. If its installed right then you have a bad stick and the only thing you can do is replace it. Like Mar_D said take the new stick out and see if Halo runs. If it does then its the ram.

First get yourself a program called everest home edition (from 'lavalys') then google crucial memory. The first identifies everything about your comp, (hardware stuff) and the latter sells memory for every machine. Look up your motherboard model in the everest program after scanning and then go to crucial.com then put the make in the box and you have a working piece of RAM guaranteed.

512 MB is fine. I like the added 'peace of mind' with 1 gig, but I rarely ever exceed 450 MB, even when running multiple high-demand programs.

Unless you're into intense video and audio editing/encoding, you'll be quite happy.
