- When you accuse them of botting they say things like: “STFU!!!” and “lol nooooob” Reactions like this are a strong indication that said player bots, or has been accused of botting many times before.

- Players who throw grenades very far and very accurately many times.
Wait. Wait wait wait. There's a bot out for throwing arced grenades now? That factors in how they bounce, and the three second delay?!

Sorry, I'm not buying it. If a player manages to throw grenades that explode right under your feet, even if you are dodging, it's a sign that he's not botting, and is in fact just simply better than you. Doubly so if they do so vs hogs and such. To try and code something like that would require the bot to either track player movements and predict where they're going to be by the time the grenade lands (and even that would most likely be far to the left or right of person who changes direction when they strafe), or they'd have to have the grenade land at the opponent's feet, which has a very good chance of missing anyway if the opponent is paying attention. The only way I can think of that doesn't require stupid amounts of programming is to somehow rip the code for elites to throw grenades, and they miss a hell of a lot, anyway.

Also, if someone calls me a botter, I'd likely tell him to STFU too - if he (or she) thinks there's no possible way to get a decent level of skill except by cheating, he/she just hasn't played as long as me.

Let's put it like this: A botter will likely use a pistol or a sniper rifle, and only those weapons, because they're the instant-hit ones. They won't change, even if the enemy is close, far away or in the middle. They're unlikely to use grenades, because they'd have to actually aim manually. They'd likely get run over as they can't target vehicles well. They don't use vehicles much, if at all. By your rules, we'd be calling quite a few skilled players botters.

And just so you know I do know a lot about how bots work, auto aimers, color identifiers, stealth detectors, the list goes on.Right. So clearly, this is why we see so many botters using fuel rods to get multiple direct hits upon their enemies, because the people coding the bots have so much free time on their hands they've written programs that can either switch between choosing weapons or can tell you've changed weapons automatically, can magically see the future to drop grenades at their opponent's feet, and can somehow make LAAG bullets fire in a precise line right into the head as you've indicated in your first post.

Oh wait.

So far Mr. Wolf has not made a single intelligent comment in this thread. The aimbot list has already been done before, and frankly it's a waste of time. Nothing anyone says or does will make the problem go away. So why even make the effort when it's so easy for a botter to change his name or something.

Thread = failure.

But a statement of yours brings some suspicion upon you; "Now I'm not saying there are no botters in the Halo community, but I'm tired of people deeming everyone a botter, when they know very little about how bots work."

So tell me, how do you know so much about how bots work? I wonder... maybe your name should be placed on this thread as well...

I've never used a bot but I know how it works and exactly what to look for after watching this video.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gjqEklIbiRI

I find it best to join the opposing team of the suspected botter. When I sightjack that player then I'll notice more easily if that player is locking onto green triangles behind walls or whether he's staring innocently at the wall.

I'm sorry to say that everything you've listed in your original post is in no way definitive proof of a botter. You need to use a sightjack and learn to spot the telltale signs.

- player locks onto multiple green triangles through walls and cycles though them one at a time before they're in their line of sight
- player follows a target through a teleporter with an instant snap to the teleporter exit.
- snaps constantly onto enemy targets with no transitioning period where the crosshair seems to travel instantaneously to someone's head.

Yes, I am a hypocrite, and I'm sorry. I really do mean well, but I'm not running on all cylinders.

This is like a flashback trigger to me, lol.

I"m sorry, but this attempt to police the game is futile. I have gone through this myself when the teamkillers were rampant on the [now long gone] bungie ctf dedicated servers. I even had a small clan together for a little bit (now currently TUI), but you're not gonna solve the problem with a list of names.

I admire your enthusiasm, but that's not enough. Don't stress yourself out because an old game is full of hackers.

You become heroic or legendary for being a good person. Good people read the rules before posting. :p

(really though, read the rules, and thanks for using proper English unlike most first-time posters)

Flawed list. They offer no proof for any of those people when you think about it. I've been banned plenty for "botting" as have most of you I'm sure at one point or another. Doesn't make it so.

- Players who have an unusually high kill count and unusually low death count.

- Players who kill players faster than a person could humanly respond to.

- Players who kill fast moving players from very far away with only a few hits.

- Players who perform a three shot head kill with a pistol very often form very far away.

- When you accuse them of botting they say things like: “STFU!!!” and “lol nooooob” Reactions like this are a strong indication that said player bots, or has been accused of botting many times before.

- Players who throw grenades very far and very accurately many times.

- Players who can kill on mounted weapons (Like the LAAG Machine Gun mounted on the back of Warthogs) from very far away, in very few hits.

Your thinking on players who bot is flawed in many ways and I do not approve of you making this thread just to bash Clans and certain players who are better than you.

Players who have an unusually high kill count and unusually low death count

Yes Botters ave high kill counts but also high death counts, seeing as how they rely on the bot to keep them alive. They usually run straight up the map with a sniper and a pistol killing people on both sides of them in very quick succession. A high kill count and low death count means that the player is patient and will take their time to think before acting.

Players who kill players faster than a person could humanly respond to

Expirence comes with skill. Many players who can pull off 3 shot kills with a pistol or a pistol nade combo kill a lot faster than someone who walks around shooting at everything with their pistol on full auto.

Players who kill fast moving players from very far away with only a few hits

Anyone can kill fast moving players with enough playing time and a fast computer. It is much easier to lead on a machine with little to no lag and a 70 FPS, resulting in more accutate shots.

Players who perform a three shot head kill with a pistol very often form very far away

3 shot kills are not 3 head shots in a row. They are 2 pistol shots anywhere followed by a headshot with a pistol. Also remember that you may be beiing shot at by more than 1 person, If 1 person shoots you twice with a pistol and a 2nd gets the headshot from a farther distance, then the kill goes to him and you die faster. Its called teamwork, learn to use it,

When you accuse them of botting they say things like: “STFU!!!” and “lol nooooob” Reactions like this are a strong indication that said player bots, or has been accused of botting many times before.

This has nothing to do with botting at all, this has to do with maturity and the amount of self control a person has. 2 perple could be botting 1 should be screaming at everyone and the other could be quiet, but both are botting and you will only ban the 1 screaming.

Nades have nothing to do with bots. and if you dont want them killing you while your behind a corner turn motion sensor off.

Players who can kill on mounted weapons (Like the LAAG Machine Gun mounted on the back of Warthogs) from very far away, in very few hits.

The LAAG is a good weapon able to do much damage at short to medium distances and if you are just standing still or in the open you will be put down in a matter of seconds. While it may seem like a noob way to kill someone, being able to kill while moving in a hog is invaluabe for your team.

Also No aimbots out there today work with vehicles, learn to read and research before you make a post about this.

The only sure ways to tell if a player is botting is if they Snap a lot while you are sightjacking them. So please learn a little bit about what you are talking about before you start a thread like this.

they're too many to list. the best way to go is to learn how to catch them. the best way to get them is a sight jacker.

You see the thing about sitejacker is that you see what you want to see. A childish vendetta against someone who knows how to play the game, and a slightly edited video clip are all you need to make an aimbotter. The best way to go is to leave the server and get over it. There are going to be cheaters on any game you play, and the sooner you remember that, and the sooner you find another server, the happier you'll be. Because nothing you can do is going to keep some kid in Wankville, Kerplakistan from downloading a cheat or a hack and using it.

BTW: The only for sure way of knowing if someone's botting is to look at their task manager to check if the aimbot is running in the background.

*Hey look I edited my post again, I'm so badass eh?
