How do you know that te universe is going to die, and who said I was stupid and incapable of gaining further wisdom. You are a fool to asume that I would be incapable of improving myself with the knowledge I would gain over time. Do not assume that your imperfections apply to all others.

Well... I base these choices on what people would want most I guess.

Most or all of the laws of thermodynamics. Heat death, entropy, all that stuff.

Posted by: GruntHavenand who said I was stupid and incapable of gaining further wisdom. You are a fool to asume that I would be incapable of improving myself with the knowledge I would gain over time. Do not assume that your imperfections apply to all others.

I never said my imperfection apply to all others, and I never said you were incapable of gaining wisdom. But you would not be able to forge a perfect society simply by living forever, and you most certainly would not become perfect. You are human, and are thus inherently flawed like the rest of us. No offense to you, but your just like us after all!

I would go back in time about 500 years and educate the civilized world on how to look after the planet. Our world would be such a better place now. Much smaller population, less disease, harmony with nature, and overall happiness. And yes, with a world of less than 1 billion people, humans would have the ability to survive and flourish without all this complicated educational system.

1.You seemed to imply that I would not be able to become a better person, I never said that I would become perfect.

2. Your cannot be sure of what will happen to the universe so don't make it seem like you can or anybody else can.

3. Why would I need to become perfect create a successful civilization, I mearly made the point that I would gain the knowledge needed over time, not that I would be a perfect being that would ceate it all. Knowledge is power my friend.

Why would you want to live forever? If you know everything then you know how to make yourself live forever. You would also know how to change your looks. You'd also know how to make anything real. Get what I'm saying? You basically get all the options with knowing everything.

You might KNOW everything, but not be able to DO everything. Kinda like being really smart but paralyzed. Think stephen hawking.

You have a point with the rest of your post, but you are still wrong here.

It is pretty much proven that the universe will undergo heat death. There is only so much useable energy in the universe, and the eventual death of the universe is inevitable. If you were immune to death, you would be around to witness it. And then live in near-0k temperatures for eternity. Not fun.

It is a nice theory, but its just that - a theory. There is no way that it can be proven beyond a doubt until the event occurs so I am not wrong. I prefer to hope for some sort of less apocalyptic event to take place rather then the we are all eventually doomed idea.

Its a theory that is virtually proven, and even if it wasn't, it makes perfect sense... we know that all stars have a limited lifespan, and they are the main source of energy in the universe...

Whatever.

Heat death will occur in a couple hundred million years.

Have fun living through it.

I wouldn't mind living forever if I could take someone with me... the loneliness would be bearable then.

Though being alone with the wrong person for eternity would be worse than aloneness for eternity...
