Techno just comes off as too artificial for my tastes, though some techno is decent and doesn't make my brain hurt. I'd rather have some headbanging fun...give your brain a reason to hurt...

Why is it heavy metal?...Is there going to anything else? like light metal? DO thay have to say heavy?

Ya I noticed that. I listen to more "hard rock". Not exactly "heavy metal", but somewhat.

Metal. Every kind. Death (Napalm Death), Black (Morbid Angel), Heavy (Hatebreed), Nu (KoRn), Old Skool (Sabbath), Rapcore (Rap + Metal, but it has to be done right, ala Anthrax. Bands like Limp Bisquick suck), Thrash (Metallica, their old stuff), Power (Um...Can't think of one right now), Speed (Dope), Stoner (Dragpipe), Shock (Manson)... You name any style of Metal, and I'd bet I like atleast one band that plays it.

Second picks are: Hard Rock (Seether), Grunge (Mudhoney), Alternative Rock (Red Hot Chilipeppers), Classic Rock (Beetles/Elvis), and Punk (Sex Pistols).

I hate Rap, Pop, and most Country. For country, the one man I can stand is Cash. He's a pimp. The 'Hurt' remix was the -blam!-. Better than the original song by Nine Inch Nails. And other such classics as 'Ring of Fire' are just cool. Too bad he died. Techno is okay, I can stand most of it with out freaking out. I really love the techno music on games like Armored Core and Zone of the Enders. Jazz is pretty cool... The old school stuff from the '20s is the best. There are few other styles of music that I listen to....

They should like make a hybrid of techno and heavy metal. That would be sweet.

There already is one. It's called Industrial Metal (or 'Techno Metal' or 'Techno Rock'). Crossbreed is a good industrial band. Nine Inch Nails used to be more on the industrial side, but they've moved away from that... There are some other good Industrial bands, and some are more techno than others... Just look around and you'll find one you like.

My Musical opinions can be found about 30-40 pages back in the flood forums, under a thread called: Music that sucks, started by green chief. Great thread...

Metal is not music, and niether is most rap. Music involves beat and rythm.

Metal has beat and rhythm... Or, atleast the good Metal does. The beat is just hidden sometimes in the really guitar driven styles. But, for reals, every rock band has a drummer for a reason: He provides tempo, beat, and rhythm for the song. He is like the glue holding the band's songs together, and although he is not the most important part most songs wouldn't work without him.

Oh -blam!- ! I forgot: Angent404, you might also want to check out these other industrial bands that I forgot:

Ministry (Don't know how I forgot them... They are one of the most important industrial band by far.)
Filter (Was and MTV hit a while back. They've fadded from the mainstream since then... In fact, they might have broken up, although I don't know because I don't keep tabs on them.)
Orgy (Read the description for Filter)

Mostly trance and techno here, lots of game music, and not the Japanese kind. That stuff is like steroids for me, I'm not sure why.

Other than that, I listen to 50 Cent and DMX for some fun... and where I live they all listen to -blam!- like Linkin Park and stuff...

Come on, man! I don't like Likin Park either, but you do have to give them respect for figuring out how to mix seven or eight instraments and make it sound good. It's hard -blam!-. A lot harder than, say, talking fast and rhyming over a beat.

Heavy Metal, Alternative, Classic Rock, Rap, and Marathon techno. And to klurejr, Rap has alotta beat, and as for Metal, It depends on the band.

I was referring to metal with the beat statement. Don't get me wrong i do enjoy a good rock/metal song, just not all of it. It seems like some of the people posting were making a statement that Metal and Rap is all there is, and its 24/7 for them.

Sublime has got to be the greatest group of all time. Perfect mix of Punk, Regge, Rap and Rock (some ska influence as well). You can put up 7 different sublme songs and they will all have a different sound to them, and they will all rock.

You will never be able to do that with Ministry, Mudvayne and the like...
This variety in the Sublime history books is a testament to why they are still one of the most popular bands on the radio even when the lead singer has been dead since May 1996.

I didn't make a more detailed statement above because I have paticipated in a few Music threads here in the flood, and hate repeating myself.
