ok well... it's powerful enough for the majority of games, that's for sure, the only thing I'd say is that your graphics card could be a little more powerful if you're buying a new one, something like a 6800GT if you like nVidia's? Your hard drive and power supply on the other hand seem a bit overkill, my hardware setup below had never used the full potential of my power supply and it's only a 240W. I'm not kidding either, the whole concept of needing huge power supplies is wrong. Anyway Ram is spot on, DVD drive good idea.

I don't see why you'd want to upgrade... :D

It's pretty nice. You could double up the 6600's with that one connector. I'm not sure...check to see how their performance compares to the 6800 series. If it's within a few frames pers second, get the extra 6600 and save money.

Oh, that CPU is nice. Winchester cores are damn good. I have a Newcastle on my 3500, it suits me well, but the Winchester is still a bit better. Your RAM is great...are you absolutely sure you need that fat of a hard drive? My old computer was used as a recording studio for audio and video...It had a 250GB total hard drive capacity, and I never used even half of that over a period of 4 years. I have a WD Raptor 74GB drive - 10k rpm. It's perfect. Not too small, but not overly large.

That's a very nice motherboard, for sure.

Otherwise, I think you've got a pretty kick-@ss computer.

I thought it was only the 6800 that could benefit from the SLI connector, and the mother board had to support it as well.

The 6600 and 6800 can use the SLI connector. I thought that too until I went to Nvidia to check it out.

I went to GamePC, a reputable review site for graphics cards...and found something you'll like. Dual 6600 GT's perform better than a 6800 Ultra on games optimized for Nvidia (OpenGL). Here is a page from a review I was flipping through. The SLI gives you another 30+ frames per second, which is good considering the price difference. However, it performs on par with the single-card config. in games like Half Life 2 (Direct 3D).

If it actually is cheaper, then go for it. It does have better performance in every game - just to different lengths.

If you buy lots of extra components, do you need to upgrade your power supply thing? I have a PCI wireless card and a PCI express x700 and I plan on getting more RAM so will I need to upgrade my power thing? (I don't know what exactly it's called)

an aluminum case would also help the heating too. Not only that, but any aluminum case are well made and pretty too.

What cpu fan do u have on that thing? I recommend the gygabyte 3d cooler it runs great. My dad just baught one of those things and he had to get that fan and duel channel ram to get it to run. Also you should get the gygabyte k8 939 mobo. It has the duel bios feature so if u screw one up the other one over writes the one u screwed up.
