In one of the screenshots i saw there was a bipod attached to the sniper rifle. there is also one in the 2003 e3 demo where the sniper tells the sergeant to abort the mission. Does this mean that you will be able to go prone like in other popular first person shooters?

I really hope so. There's nothing that saves your life against a sniper more then going prone. Seriously, that's one of the first things they teach you as a soldier. They almost have an instinct to hit dirt when they hear a gunshot.

going prone is where you lay on your stomach and shoot from that position. I don't think there is a bipod in halo 1. I could be wrong but i have played through halo 1 over 10 times.

Loverdain, you can't see it in first person. You have to look at someone else's rifle.

okay my mistake. I still think going prone would be a nice addition like the way the chief is going to be able to lean around corners, maybe using the d-pad, they could also use the d-pad for proning.

Geesh you guys are fast, I was posting a reply for 9 posts above this one. Ah well.

On topic: Yeah I dont think Bungie will put that in, if they did, then I'm almost sure sprinting, combo meleeing, leaning and other 'body movements' would have to be implemented as well, but they arent to my knowledge

Going Prone is lying down on the ground, usually on your stomach.

Usually it makes you a smaller target. Going prone has other awesome uses to. For instance you could lie down behind a warthog and snipe across the map from underneath it. You'd be practically invisible.
