you know texas, being politically correct is good, but there is a point where it goes WAY to far
take this for example
A board of the "most politically correct" people in a town got together because they were going to publish a book based on essays that some 4th graders had written
Some of the top choices were
a book that was written about the lives of owls
and another book written about a blind climber who climbed one of the tallest mountains in the world
They immediately threw out the essay about the blind climber because they wanted people to view being blind as not a disability (my question is, then what is it?)
and they also threw out the essay about the owl because a group of Native Americans (by group i mean about 10-20) view the owl as some sort of godly figure, and they didn't want to offend them (although this particular group of Native American aren't literate because of cultural practices)
so what they ended up doing was settle for a second class essay that was apparently "more politically correct"
btw, this was a true story
