Just for general knowledge.

The most players on any Xbox game has been 32 for Nascar Heat using 16 Xboxs. 16 Xboxs is also the built in limit for the max number of Xboxs that can be networked together.

we know about the 16 boxes, but that was done so 16 different players can have their own fullscreen tvs online, without having to split up a screen to get a good amount of players in a game

it's funny people (and even credible game sites like gamespot) complian that a 16 player limit is primitive and small but imagine playing Blood Gultch with 64 people heck it's chaotic enough with 12 people!

The reason that number of people per game is limited, is that you can't use a PC server to run a game on XBL right now. The only way to do it at the moment, is a single xbox be the host of 16 players. The fact of the matter is, a single xbox just doesn't have the neccessary specs to host more than that without a ton of latentcy.

i heard that halo 2 allows up to 4 people on one tv on one xbl account (3 guests) playing online...

ps its from a person who played it at e3 not some bum

that would be awesome. I would love to have 3 of my friends over and we could play 16 player halo 2. (since i dont have XBC)

but if this isnt true do u think halo 2 would have 1 guest option?

Well, it was Max who said this, so it can't be that wrong.

It's been confirmed, you can take 3 friends online with one account as guests. And they can each have their own headsets as well. It's gonna be sweet

Maybe the super special thing that they're doing to change online gaming is that they're gonna get PC servers working with XBL so you can actually have 16 players with virtually no lag. Some special MS sponsored servers, oh that would RULE!!

The guys at the FanFest were playing on a LAN.
