Okay, before everyone starts saying, "The noob knows nothing!". I want to explain myself. First of all, it is hard to imagine over hyping this game seeing all of the pictures and movies and whatever. Quite frankly, are we setting our selves up for dissapointment? What if something isn't exactly how we expected it? How will we the Halo 2 fanatics take it? Will we shrug it off saying, "Eh, it can happen." or will we be expectiong perfection and if it isn't quite what we hyped it up to be, what then? Will we keep playing it? Heck ya. Will we enjoy it still? Maybe, because when we see all of this amazing stuff we expect it all to be that good. It's our mind's nature to put something on the exact same level as the preview. Why do you think movie trailers only show the climatic parts or the funny parts, or in all actuality most of the good parts. Because they know it will draw us in, they know that suddenly the whole movie will seem that good. Am I saying Bungie is doing this? Yes and no. They are doing their job. Marketing their game to make money, so that they can make a living. The no part is, from what I have seen of the game, the trailer is living up to all of what we have seen of the game so far. But I must say a warning, please do not expect perfection in this game, there will be bugs, there probably will be some parts in the game that are sub-par with the rest of the game. Do not hype this game so much that if this happens that it becomes the failing point. Hey there may be some bugs, probably not the "Enter the Matrix" type of bugs, but some. That is why the first HALO was so dang good. We didn't know what to expect, we didn't expect perfection, and we expected some flaws. But, we expected them and then we noticed them and said, "That could change" (Repetitive landscapes and confusing layouts <Library, Assult on Control room>) and we saw the good and amazing parts and saw that overall the good outweighed the bad.

There might be some of you who will simply brush this off and say something like "Eh, I won't do that I know that that could happen." You know what? That might be honest, and that 's cool. But I still warn you, be careful. Make this game as good if not better than he original HALO by not expecting perfection.

Heh, long first post. I might not become popular because of this first post. But you know? It was on my mind so ya.

So we like drooling over every screen capture and our week revolves around the friday update. We spend countless hours discussing topics that have been discussed 20 times before. I believe that's our right so what does it matter to you. In the end Halo 2 will rock and I will have fun playing it. I believe that's all that matters.

like you said we noticed the flaws in the first halo and when we said they could be fixed they are being fixed and that game is halo2 a more compleet and much better halo. i doubt all the people at bungie are wanting to make people buy there game i bet most of them just want to make a great game that will go down in history and they won't try to trick us into buying a bad game buy putting all the good parts in the trailers. Halo2 will be great

No, we are not over-hyping and the game will not be a dissapoinment, the reason people would call you a noob for this is because if you look into Halo 2 at all, then it will become obvious that it will be great. Here are some reasons:
Bungie cannot afford to dissapoint
Fans who played the game are saying it is way better
Its Halo 2

In all this madness has any one ever stop to realize that the guys at Bungie are huge Halo fans themselves. I don't believe they would ever put out a game that they are absolutely crazy about.

I think you guys are missing my point. First of all I was not accusing Bungie of only selling the game. It is obvious that Bungie would not sell a game that they did not like them selves. My only fear is that we are hyping the game TOO much. I don't see how we couldn't given all of the information that we know. I have preordered the Deluxe Edition. I have been so excited for this game. I just think that if we over hype this game too much if something it isn't exactly how we figure it to be then we may be dissapointed. Notice I said may. I could be wrong and I admit that. We just need to understand that if something might not be how we expected then it may ruin the experience for us. I just think that we need to go into this game with the exact same feelings that we had toward the original HALO. Not be too expectant of it, that way it will deliever. Anyways, I am really friggen excited for it. But I just want to make sure that I don't set my-self up for dissapointment.

I understand completely. Perfection is not always easy to achieve, and expecting perfection in Halo2 may set us up for a big dissapointment. I used to feel the same way, but after E3, I am feeling much, much better. Keep in mind that everyone who played, whether it be gaming website or magazine representitives or the fans, everyone said it lived up or exceeded the hype.

Not only that, but both Bunige and Microsoft have so much riding on this game, there is absolutly no way that it can be a dissapointment.

Trust Bungie my friend.

Realism is not popular subject in this forum. He has a point. I mean we all know sequels are always better. That was sarcasm just incase you didn't catch it. Do not forget. The people of Bungie are men and women looking to earn a living first. If you doubt that you are too young to have had to pay your own bills. I love Halo and I can't wait for H2. But I know there is a slight possibility that i won't be as good as the first. I am pretty sure it will but you never know. What if duel weilding is too powerful? What if the plasma sword ruins the game by being the soul unstoppable weapon? What if the tracking rocket launcher makes rocket camping the only thing to do? What if the destructable environments are more annoying than fun after you get use to the explosions? What if the flying vehicles cause a problem like the Banshee does in the pc version? I am a Bungie lover but be realistic. I doubt this stuff is true but we don't know and won't until Nov. 9th. And yes, I expect to get flamed by a ton of 12 year olds for this.

Im glad someone has a sense of reality left. I mean, Bungie's not God(though some people would beg to differ) they make mistakes. Their WILL be something someone dosent like in H2. Thats a fact of life.

I'm not expecting perfection, but I'm expecting it to be(and it almost certainly will be) waaay better than Halo, whatever that's like I can't really imagine until I've played it.

I think we're only just scratching the surface with all the videos and updates about why halo 2 is going to kick serious ass.

My analogy is Halo 2 is to the gaming community is like LaBron James is to the NBA!

It will far exceed the hype and make millions and millions of dollars!

I think even if it was exactly like Halo just with adding the features they have already confirmed it would be a blast just to play mulitplayer live. Even if campaign sucked and the graphics were not any better than the original.

I understand the point and he may, though unlikely be right. i think though that even if halo 2 doesn't meet our expectations it will be better than the first and man, that is good.......
WAY good.

I've tried, Jiminy! Oh how I've tried. My hand is a withered claw!

Then you're a -blam!-. And you'll get the -blam!- ending you deserve.

I wasn't bored by Halo 1's simplicity at all. Maybe a little disappointed by how Two Betrayals is AOTCR backwards and at night, but it still kicked ass. Now Bungie has access to Xbox Live, knows how to squeeze every last bit of power outta teh Xbox, and is releasing it "when its done". So its gotta be sweet.

I was afraid it had been overhyped too when I saw the E3 2003 trailer - the graphics were pretty bland...It's hard to describe. They were better than Halo 1's, but not anywhere as crisp. But we won't have to worry about that - the latest mp screens look badass and Frankie says thats not even on the latest graphics engine.

The way i see it is this... Bungie has halo, they take halo, and add new features... so, it has to be at least as good as halo, which in my opinion, is one of the best, if not the best game made for multiplayer...

Also i figure, they will probably have options to turn things off...

YOU CAN'T OVER HYPE HALO 2 no matter how hard you try. I dream about the damn game i work at an EB and all I get is whens Halo 2 coming like 10-20x a day ok i read and view every little bit of information and I've only scraped the surface of Halo 2. We are in for one hell of a treat when that game comes out. I mean even if it was a muti-player game it would own. Trust we dont know -blam!- about the game
