OK so I was watching The Tonight Show, when he said that they've classified french fries as a vegetable. Who's the idiot who thought that crap up? You're thoughts please.

Potatoes are vegetables ergo so are chips (or "french fries", if you're that way inclined).

You know, I wasn't sure when I said they were named after a guy named after Albert Fench. I was hoping someone would go research it to prove me wrong. That way, I could find out who it was, with no effort! But this plan isn't working out too hot. :' (

i was responding to the original post... sorry.

NO french fries are not a vegtable, the fact that the amount of grease is higher than starch changes the physical properties of the potato.

I am making this up as i go.

The American's call them fries, the English call them Chips, and les français aime des frites.

Of course, Canadians just call them whatever we want (though I do like an occasional poutine.

I wonder what they call them in New Orleans?

Of course, for some reason, every likes calling me "Potato"...

It leads to some interesting jokes....
