I don't know if anyone else has discovered this but when you get to the tree/branch that you have to cross to get to the structure if you look up at ledge above you (on the right) or if have a glance at your motion tracker you will see two friendlys but these aren't human their actually a couple of INFECTED ELITES!!! they will disappear over the ledge. Then if you move a little further forwards (keep looking up there) you will another flood run round th tree near the edge, then disappear into the background. its strange because they turn up as friendlys but once i manage to lay pistol shot in 1 so it turned red (its best to have your pistol so you can see them).

it makes me wonder why Bungie put them there, but has anyone else found these flood.

P.s : i found them on xbox i don't know about PC

yeah, and if you get up to the side of the level (can't remember quite how) there is a marine just standing at the top on his own.

Ah. Thank you.
Yes i did notice that. Maybe it's because the chief as yet knows nothing of the flood, so doesn't tag them as hostile?

Actually, it's probably not the Chief who manually tags the flood as "enemies", the tracker just recognises them as "unknown" lifeforms, and that is why they are red. In Marathon, every alien was tagged as red on the motion tracker, since it identified aliens as "unknown"; humans were green/yellow (hey I'm colour-blind!). Even the S'pht were red on levels you were fighting alongside them, and the enemy exploda-bobs were grellow, since they registered as human. Humans were also registered as grellow even on levels in Infinity when you were on the side of the Pfhor. So, technically, the colours don't indicate friend/foe (except in multiplayer of course, but that's different).

I'd say that the "friendlies" weren't the flood, but the marines you meet at the end of the level. I've never noticed that the flood you see appear to be friendly, but you never know. And I've only ever seen one flood combat form. Shows how observant I am, I suppose. :)
