yep and as the other weapons from first strike have made it so far i'd say the chances of it making it are very high. heres another reason why, on the interview with peter parsons on xbox.com, he says a lot of missions will follow first strike as halo 2 starts straight after halo 1 so it would only make sense the magnum pistol is in it, at least in the campaign mode.

When a cat is dropped, it always lands on its feet, and when toast is dropped, it always lands buttered side down. Therefore, if a slice of toast is strapped to a cat's back, buttered side up, and the animal is then dropped, the two opposing forces will cause it to hover, spinning inches above the ground. If enough toast-laden felines were used, they could form the basis of a high-speed monorail system.

Yeah, i think there will be.

It might, but how would it fit in with everything else? I mean, how would Bungie balance it with the other weapons, without the uber cannon that was the M6D?

magnums range is much smaller and its less accurate. stronger though.

So instead of picking them off across the level in 3 shots, they can pick you off from half-way in 2 shots?

Edit : Or is it really really inaccurate?

I didn't think he said it would follow first strike, but that it would be right after the original game. That doesn't mean that it would follow the books. They are sort of there own thing. I would like some of those missions to be in the game but than again not at all simply because i read it and want something new.

It has i lower rate of fire considering that magnum pistols have a GIGANTIC FRIGGIN RECOIL which i have shot 1 but usualy they are more accurate if shot slowly

Try reading first strike. it says in the book that the covies found earth. in halo2 you already know the covies found earth so obviously its after first strike.

IF they follow the books, it will have no scope, less rounds in a clip, but possibly more powerfull. Keep in mind, in Halo 1, it was about a .45 ACP (which is NOT considered a magnum round) with an explosive tip. If they follow the books, it will be a bigger bullet, but no explosive tip, maybe it balances out. So it could just be the same gun but with no scope and less ammo. What do you guys think?

I wouldn't think that a spartan would be bothered by recoil cuz they are so freakin strong.

Yeah the Magnum Pistol is a near certainty and it would be easy to balace heck they could just remove to scope of the M6D and it would be fine. The only thing that bothered me was the pistol sniping matches cause no pistol has that much range a few real magnums can hit targets greater than a 125 yards but battling snipers with a scoped handgun makes no sense.
