textbook answer. unfortunatly, life isnt a text book. there are things in life people experience that is unexplanable. it will drive them to suicide. it only happens to few, but it does happen. you and i cannot understand what it is, for we havent experienced it. so please, stop blatently stating death is all bad and evil.

I never said it was unexplainable, people can explain it like you just did. It is not justifiable. Just because they give an explaination doesn't justify it. Just because they have a reason doesn't make it right. I will not stop stating that death is bad and evil, because it is. There are some things that I hold as absoloute. That suicide and murder are wrong are two of those. I feel justified giving a textbook answer because for once, the textbook is right.

To kill yourself is to give up. I find this practice insulting, there is always hope, and to give up life is worse than death. If I were meant to die for whatever reason, I'd let that fate come to me in whatever form it took. Suicide is for those who cannot cope with the life that they have, and any life can be coped with. They kill themselves needlessly when they could have become something great. You should always go out fighting, because this life is the only life you have. How could you NOT give it up without a fight?

Tru7h.

Like I said, explainable, but not justifiable.

They'll come back with the obligatory "choice" argument. Heh, funny that they say choice. People always want the unrestrained choice, be it a bad one or good one. They want the choice to take drugs, to kill themselves, they want to be able to have everything they want- and they'll end up with nothing at all. Greed disguised as choice is the destroyer of both solitary people and entire empires. It tempts us all, from the lowest peasant to the greatest leader.

Law is what separates us from the animals, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Our ability to restrict our own primal urges and greed is what has made us powerful. To grant uncontrolled choice is to recede into what we were, and I rue the day that happens.

I think it's weak -- but it should be legal. People can kill themselves, and they will do it anyway. It is their right, just as it is their right to walk into a bank one day where they (unknowingly) will get shot by a robber.

No. I know it is an unusual answer, but it is not in one's right s to choose when they die. That is decided by many factors, not your free will. Making that choice goes against your natural instinct and endangers yourself(no -blam!-) and hurts family and friends. There are just too many factors and concequences.(I know my spelling is probably wrong)

It is decided by your free will. If you stab yourself, that was your free will, no? You can hurt family in friends in many other ways too, possibly even worse than by committing suicide. Too many factors and consequences? That's something that you have to deal with EVERY major decision. Suicide is no difference.

Fancy thinking the beast was something you could hunt and kill!
You knew, didn't you? I'm a Part of you?

Close,Close,Close!

I'm the reason why its no go? Why things are what they are?

This is ridiculous. You know you'll only meet me down there, so don't try and escape!

I think of Suicide as nothing more than an action, like walking or mas- nevermind.

Your going to be forgotten anyways.

Not always, there are those who have left their mark on the world. I personally plan to do that in one way or another.

EDIT: In fact I've already begun to do that, and have plans to do even more.

there is always hope,

so, theres hope for a 78 year old man dieing of a fatal lung disease? is there hope for people suffering from AID's? is there hope for someone with a tumer the size of my fist? justified suicide means there is no hope for you, and you dont want to suffer/you dont want to make people you care suffer.

That's true, it is their decision and only they have the choice, but I mean, we're all in this together. Life that is, and shouldn't the rest of us try and help those who feel hopeless? I mean, don't we owe it to them? We have a better life so shouldn't we try and share just a little bit of our selves with others?

I still don't see the point of killing yourself. You may yet have some kind of purpose, no matter how minute. Let fate meet you where it chooses, not where you choose.

then again your not dieing of an uncurable disease, so you cant make that choice for the people that are.

Not that you know of, anyways.

No, I can't make that decision for them. I only know what I think of the matter. Everyone has a choice, there's no denying that.

I gurantee you that if you were in enough pain that would drive you to suicidal thoughts you would think differently. Especially if it happened every day.

And how do you know a cure wont come by soon? There is hope.

How would you feel if you killed yourself a month before a cure came along.

Its stupidity, thats what it is.
