I'm on my buddy's computer and when I try to run Halo trial edition it says something about a fatal error. I looked at his display adaptors and it says: SiS 650_740

Here are his specs:
2.49 GHz Pentium 4
448 MB of RAM

And as you saw earlier, his display adaptor:
SiS 650_740

SiS is common on many Intel motherboards (like the nForce by Nvidia is on AMD motherboards). Basically, "Silicon Integrated Systems" puts chipsets and occasionally integrated graphics chipsets on a motherboard. Either his integrated graphics are horrible (I doubt that they could be that bad), he has messed up BIOS (I also highly doubt), or he has poor drivers or none at all.

I think he's missing drivers, or has a very old version. The SiS 650 integrated graphics chipset is about 3-4 years old now. If he hasn't ever updated the drivers, he really should. I had one on my old computer. Man did it suck!

When I tried updating his drivers, it said that I needed a CD or that I had to get the information or something like that from a specific location on the hard disk. Or it was something close to that. My friend doesn't have the CD and when I tried updating it from a specific location (I believe it was C:/SiS/something) it would say: "The Wizard could not find a better match for your hardware than the software you currently have installed." does this mean he cannot play Halo PC on his computer?
