some comments

- the shotgun (far left) looks really stubby.

- still no self shadowing or universal lighting seen in multiplayer (maybe seen in the last MP screen with the shadow cast from the box?)

- the animation looks great... notice how the MC is holding the two guns

- the head tracking looks like its in. it looks to me that his head is looking slight off of where the guns are pointed

- lots of bumpmapping going on in the environment

- are those bullet holes above the MC on the left... with light shinning in?

- wonder why it looks like a team game (the 2 brownish chiefs) and the one red (cant tell what color the 4th is), but its not the standard red vs blue. can teams select colors?

I think it's just the light above them making parts of his armor blue...

Hmm . . . I'm not real up-to-date on Halo 2 news; maybe this is a 'duh, didn't you know?' question. But what I want to know is: what are those blue patches on the armor for? I'd think they were team indicators or something except they already have full-blue and full-red armor to show teams . . . so why the patches on the arms, helmet, etc? Anyone know?

-The Inexperienced One

Wow, I never even saw that.. Except for on the april fools pic, I thought that was part of the joke though, haha.

Hmm.. I'm thinking this is a DM, and those are just personal touches. In the previous screens it was just regular Red vs. Blue (which I prefer).

no, thats definitely not it. the other MC on the left has the same colored markings. and besides, that would be some seriously unnatural lighting for it only to affect one panel at a time on the armor :)

maybe the skins are customizable?

Not only do both of the main players have blue 'patches' on their armor, but if you look at the warthog, the driver has a red patch on his helmet. Cooool . . . :D

I like the 'patches' more than the old all-over color . . . makes it more confusing in battle. Especially with all that dust flying around!

-edit-

Orrr, he just has red armor. . . that red spot is too big to be just a 'patch' :(

The Master Chief emerged from his code. After seeing his dynamically lit realtime shadow, he went back for 9 more months of development.

First their is self shadowing shown in this picture look between the two sage colored spartans. There is a shadow of another spartan holding battle rifle, who must be around the corner near the warthog.

All the spartans have those holes in the knees. They are just part to the armour.

But why are there red MCs with the brown ones? Why do the brown ones have blue stuff? Are those bullet holes like the other guy said??!?!?!?!

no, thats another MC, not a shadow. besides, thats not what i mean by self shadowing. basically, the MC models arent casting shadows on themselves. see the announcement trailer or pics to see great examples of it. it hasnt been seen in ANY multiplayer screens yet, and hopefully is just because the feature hasnt been "turned on" yet in early builds.

character class?
Choosable color in Human vs Convi?
Squads in human vs convi?

Or maybe its not only red vs blue anymore :(

Best case scenario, Human versus covi Scene.
Next best scenario, more than 2 teams per match.
Worst case scenario, thats Frank with the shotgun

I wish Bungie would sned a screen out with all the features turned on. But they wouldn't because if it made the game too slow and they released the game and it didn't look as good as the screenshots they would be in trouble. I love my huge sentences.

It might be a slayer match, who knows. The real question is what gun is firing those lasers.

What are those green blobs that are being shot at that blue guy? Is that from the new weapon? Furthurmore, what really gets me is the Red guy driving a warthog in the middle of a cave! that's just insane! Must play Halo 2 now!

Actually, I think it is... Look at the MC's knee in that shadow... That part doesn't look like a shadow at all...

It really helps to invert the picture in paint. You can see the shotgun better. It looks way too short.

When you got shot in Halo 1 multiplayer, you dropped both weapons, so that would explain that. No dual wielding, if that's what you were thinking.
