Bump means you're bumping a post back to the top of the list. The reason why bumping isn't really allowed is because it can bring back topics that died off for a reason.

also, now that we're talking about people not knowing simple game lingo...
i kind of feel ashamed about this lol

what does pwned mean? (besides killed, i mean what specific english word does this odd thing come from)

and to add to that, what is afk (i understand what it means, but it must stand for something)

This is a RETICULE, and that is a RETICLE. I'm using the latter to aim. And what are you using?

"pwned", or sometimes "pwnd" is an abstraction of the english term "owned", which means to dominate one or multiple opponents. Look at Wikipedia.org, they've got a bit about the "pwned" term.

"afk" is the abbreviation for "away from keyboard". This means that the according player stopped playing for a moment because there's something else he has to do (getting to the toilet, etc).

Lol = Laughing Out Loud
Rofl = Rolling Of Floor Laughing
Lmao = Lauging My Ass Of
Omg = Oh My God
Omfg = Oh My -blam!- God
Brb = Toilet

Heyyo,

brb doesnt' mean toilet... it means Be Right Back

pwned usually means to dominate over someone else.

one you guys missed is this:

w00t = Extreme happyness. In the old days of Quake 3 Arena it used to mean "Wastage On the Other Team" or something like that which meant to go and dominate the other team cause they weren't managing their weapon stock right.
