When I run halo I get a error message that says thate there was a problem intalizing direct 3d and that Hardware acceleration may be disabled and to run dxdiag. I run it and it says everything is enabled. I got this game bundled with a sound card. PLEASE HELP!

Test the Directx for errors. This can happen if the files are corrupted.

Otherwise, get the previous driver for your card. The new ATI drivers are a bit...weird.

if u have catalyst 5.1, roll back to 4.12

5.1 has horrible crashing bugs both my frined and i find all the time

if u want to get Halo Working Do This what i Did Because i Had the Same Problem!!!!!! ok anywayz.... Download this Patch and Install It http://download.microsoft.com/download/4/4/0/440419e2-db95-45 5c-8871-54 b1cd89ad07/haloupdate.exe (Copy and Paste Into Address bar) When u have Downloaded it Go to the Halo Short cut on Desk top Right Click it then Click Properties then Click Find Target Then Put the File u Dwnloaded in there it will ask U Do you want to replace this with this one Click Yes. Now Run the Update From there this will update the Game Run Halo it will Work!!! :-D. But when i did this i could Not See Chat Messages But it took me a Coulple of Months to Figure that Problem Out. if u do get that Problem Just Ask me and i will be HAPPY to Help u!!!! :-) Cya Hope this Works For ya.

If you have Win XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) installed I suggest you check out the stickey thread for SP2 with 256mb vidcards fix.

I just had to upgrade halo to the newst version and now it works. Sorry about all the info. I didnt know what you needed.
