In nearly every online Slayer or non-Objective game I've played on Ivory Tower, it ends up becoming a struggle for control of the upper hallway and the immediate area. It's sort of like Colossus in that regard: even though the sniper rifle doesn't break Ivory Tower like it breaks Colossus, the teams tend to fight for that area because it provides a strategic advantage over a decent chunk of the rest of the map.
I think it can be fun fighting for control of the hallway, for the most part, because the advent of an overshield helps prospective invaders and gives them at least a fighting chance, when they can hurl a grenade around the corner and take down the shields of an unwary enemy.
I like Midship because...well, it's Midship. Playing Objective gametypes on it is pretty fun, because even though it doesn't take long to carry a flag or bomb across the map, wary opponents will catch sight of you and exterminate you before you can get back to your base. By the same token, it seems like the fighting is well distributed: when you're running an object across the map, you'll often see your teammates battling the other team all around. Pit of Death is great for LAN parties: FFA territories with swords and no motion sensors. Straight-up Slayer works just as well.
In the end...probably Ivory Tower, because you can fall out of the floor and climb up an invisible staircase. Gameplay mechanics be damned.
