The Master Chief emerged from his code. After seeing his dynamically lit realtime shadow, he went back for 9 more months of development.

Behold the power of the Originals, the Gods Axeone-Neurone.

I have some new speculation on the first pic based off of "The Vang: The Battlemaster" by Christopher Rowley.

Below are exerpts from The Vang: The Battlemaster. They are descriptions of the the Vang’s (the Flood) homeworld, which has been destroyed by the Batrachians (Forerunner). It is a planet with stronger gravity than Earth’s, orbiting a small red dwarf. Plagued by violent dust storms and a thin atmosphere the planet is completely devoid of life.

They were on top of a long, sinuous ridge formation that dominated the surrounding terrain. Something about the way it coiled back and forth made Chang think of ancient burial mounds in Ohio, from the prehistoric period on the North American continent.

Occasionally when the dust cleared momentarily there would be a startling glimpse of the surrounding terrain. Steep slopes rose up for thousands of meters above a dark, abyssal plain far below.

Jagged rifts and canyons with vertical walls a mile deep or more cut into the sides of these ridge formations. And yet the ridge top itself was level and fairly smooth…

Now compare this description to this picture of what we believe is from the MP map called Burial Mounds. The red dwarf is what is causing the red hue in the picture and the clouds are not water vapor but dust. Could this map be the Flood’s home world or did they just take this description and apply it to a different world?

I hate everything, but it's not my fault.

Ya nice find, *Shudders at thought of single player mission to flood homeworld* but I almost hope you are wrong because I don't want to go to the flood homeworld :(

Very cool find. Just another link from halo to marathon. Looks like we will see many more links in Halo 2. If someone were to study them closely it may even be able to make some pretty good assumptions on the story of halo 2 or some of the landscapes... Or we could just wait. =P

Man, that's clever thinking. Maybe we will be going to the flood homeworld. Hopefully they tweak the gameplay a little to make it more enjoyable if that's where they plan on taking MC.

I didn't read whatever it is you originally post because it's really long, but I'll say that the bungie guy (whoever he was) hinted at more "Halo Worlds" or he pointed out a hint of it early on in the game. The hint was in the opening movie, where cortana tells the captain that it's called "Halo: Alpha" or something like that, *Note the 'Alpha' so it could be one of many.

Interesting. I always pictured burial grounds as the wreckage of the halo after having fallen onto threshold or basis (whichever one is the moon I can't remember) but if you are right do you think the wreckage is forerunner or from homegrown flood? ( they can repair spaceships so I guess they could build structures... although they probably wouldnt want to because it doesn't help them acquire food)

Good find, but the Flood was made off to be, in my opinion, a designed weapon. A virus created by the Forerunner.

I may be wrong, seeing as how Halo seemed to be inspired by this book and it might or might not follow its story line. But who knows?

I hate everything, but it's not my fault.

Actually the name of the Halo is Halo 04, which 343 tells you at some point, i don't remember when though.
And the flood would want to build spaceships so then they can get to another planet and get more food there.
And I agree with Priest I about the flood being designed, but maybe they could have escaped and made another planet their homeworld.

Flood Homeworld? Flood don't strike me as things that have a "Home". However it is highly possible that it is a concured Flood world full of little surprises. For those who want to go there, shame on you! Has the Library taught you nothing? More Flood more trouble I say.....
