How are you offended by it?

You know, Stalin might have had some flaws in the ways he governed, but he was a badass! Over here in American Schools, he's portrayed as little less than Hitler.
Just wondering if he has a different reputation over there in the UK?!

It would be interesting to see how many people asked "Yank what?" after they were called a yank.

No no, He is still taught the same way. But i think you have to make your own opinons. Sorry i dont want to go into politics, and i dont want to offend anyone. The name is a bit of a joke, Stalin is my name for multiplayer games. Thats to do with the fact that he was allegedly responsible for the death of multi-millions, and i hope to frag multi-millions of people. Kind of a good luck thing. Hope i am not offending anyone with my choice of name.

We say Yank, they say -blam!- (as well as Frankie). It balances out nicely.

EDIT: What do you know, the "L" word is filtered.

Yeah, just be proud your name is related to a guy that killed millions of people. That's one way of becoming popular.

I can't see why it would offend anyone. The "americans" in the South can all other "americans" Yanks. I think that is quite funny in itself. I am from california, and i doubt many people even know the origin of that term, other than it sounds like a baseball team that plays in NY, yankees.

Bah. The people that we're taught are 'evil' really aren't that evil. Yeah, Stalin killed millions of poeple, but, those people who died, died building thte metro(it kicks ass), the Communist era had some great health care, there's an apteka(pharmacy)every 200 feet, and while they were poor, they were taken care of more than eople might think. And as for Hitler, yeah, he killed a whole bunch of Jews, Russians, and Pols, but, he didn't drink, he didn't cheat on his wife, and he was sharply dressed. People only look at the bad, and never at the good. Oh, well.

Sorry, but there's just not enough good in "dressing sharply" to justify the deaths of 56 million people.

Hitler didn't kill 56 mil. people, you nut case! He onlt killed about 12-23 mil. Stalin killed more, but he also got some free stuff out of it(metro, buildings, factories).
