I don't think Bungie will change it to that. I believe it will be only 1 holster.

Read the God-damn Update Before I lose my Freakin' mind. He said in the new update that you have a 3rd slot for the dual-wielding aspect.

No, the grenades don't really count as a weapon, they have a slot all to their own.

I think it would be reasonable that the MC just holsters the 2 hand-held weapons he is dual-wielding then taking out a grenade, but the weapon capacity should go like this: one rifle(1 BR, 1 Carbine, 1 Sniper Rifle, 1 Rocket Launcher, etc.), 2 hand-held weapons(2 plasma pistols, 2 SMGs, etc), and 8 grenades(4 human nades, 4 plasma nades)

STOP you've got it all wrong it is alot simpler

If you have BR in your slot and 2 SMGs in your hands the very second you switch to your BR, throw a grenade, melee, or board a vehicle you drop the weapon in your left hand and you are now back to 2 weapons in your inventory. You can however reload while dualwielding.

wrong.......sorry but just wrong..........they said that you CAN have a dual-wieldable weapon in reserve, go to my thread to see how it REALLY works:

i made a thread earlier that has the CORRECT way dual-wielding works, but since no one is posting there i will post it here..........:

Ok, first off, there is no real 3rd Weapon slot, it is just figment of your imagination, matrix style...

Here is what happens: (you already have a battle rifle (br) and smg)

1. switch from br to smg

2. go over to another dual-wieldable weapon (lets say needler)

3. it says, "hold Y to dual-wield", so you do

4. now you have an smg in right hand (main) and needler in left (dual-wield)

5. after fighting a while you want to get rid of needler and go back to regular mode, so you press "B" which drops the dual-wield weapon (needler) (this is stated in FAQ)

6. Then you find a Plasma Rifle (pr) that you wish to dual wield, so you do the standard Hold Y ordeal

7. after fighting w/ that setup for a whild, you need to use grenades but wish to keep pr and not drop it, so you press and Hold "Y"

8. now you have smg out only (but have a pr in "reserve")

9. you then want to use the battle rifle you have. when you press "Y" it switches from the smg to the battle rifle and back again (NEVER TO THE PLASMA RIFLE.........EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!! more explanation below)

10. but you now see a energy sword and wish to drop smg (not br) to get it

11. you go over to the sword and hold "X"

12. THIS is what confuses people, both the smg AND the pr are dropped in order to pick up energy sword (it was shown in E3 2004 video) because the 3rd "reserve" weapon is actually just an extension of the 2nd slot, so when you want to swap you ditch the entire 2nd slot for a new weapon

so, in conclusion, the "3rd slot" is merely an extension of the 2nd slot, and is linked directly to the 2nd slot, when you have 2 dual wieldable weapons. if you wanna lose smg then you got to lose the plasma rifle whether you like it or not. If you wished to switch from having the smg as your "main" dual-wieldable weapon to your plasma rifle as being the "main" dual-wieldable weapon then you have to press "B" to drop the pr and then hold "X" to swap the smg for it and then hold "Y" to dual-wield the smg.........(confusing aint it?!)

but dont worry, it wont take TOO long in mp battles, it'll just take merely 5 sec. of getting used to.........

i AM right so you can't say i'm wrong, but go ahead and confirm my correctivity....... :)

My god can I get away from the boards for a little while. I read the update long before I read this post. In fact I have discussed the update many times in my prior posts and you are WRONG it does not say you have a second holster slot. Here I'll quote it for you so you can read with me:

THIRD WEAPON!!!? WHATCHOO TALKIN ABOUT FRANKIE? Well, if you're holding a weapon in one hand, and you have another "holstered" you can dual-wield a third. That means the reserve weapon simply stays put when you pick up the dual-wield weapon. Effectively that lets you have three weapons at one time.

Lets name what hes talking about. Your holding a weapon, lets say this is an SMG okay. He says you have another holstered okay lets say BR. Thats TWO guns one holstered one out, so when you dual weild you now have three guns. One holstered, one in the right hand one in the left. no where does it say that you can holster two guns NO WHERE. Quite the opposite. Frankie makes a big deal about having three weapons being completley odd so he says you "effectively" have three because you are holding two in your hands and ONE holstered. This does not say you can have two holstered. Have we discussed that quote enough now?

wrong, look at E3 2003, MC switches from br to dual smg's without losing an smg.........

I don't think it will work like that. You want to throw nades you have to drop your left hand weapon because you don't have 2 holster slots and thus have no where to put the second weapon.

im NOT trying to refute your statement but no one has said (officialy) that MC doesn't have 2 holster slots, if they did then give me a link

im pretty sure that they HAVE said that you can PUT AWAY (note: that does not mean drop) your 3rd weapon in order to use nades

I remember seeing that if you wanted to use nades you had to drop your left hand weapon on the ground. Yeah Bungie could do what ever they want but I'm pretty postive there will be no second holster based on all I've read and seen.

I would love real hard confirmation as well and I wish I could tell you where I saw it, but I can't. I've read more hands on about Halo 2 than I can count. I've done a little searching but cant find it. Most people don't go into that much detail. Looks like we'll just have to wait for Bungie.
