Devil is Double is Deuce and Joker always trumps Deuce.
Today marks the 2nd anniversary of the space shuttle Columbia tragedy. Two years later, and still, NASA has not launched a shuttle since. They are on the verge of scrapping the ISS. This is a dark time for NASA. The loss of Columbia dealt a crippling blow to NASA. It left them with only three other shuttles and they have had to rely on the Russians to ferry astronauts between the ISS and Earth. But most importantly, we lost seven good and brave men and women:
Rick D. Husband, Commander
William C. McCool, Pilot
Michael P. Anderson, Payload Commander
David M. Brown, Mission Specialist
Kalpana Chawla, Mission Specialist
Laurel Blair Salton Clark, Mission Specialist
Ilan Ramon, Payload Specialist
They died doing something they loved and something that they believe in. Too often, we forget about those who give their lives in the name of something they truly believed in. As you read this thread, I ask you to not only remember the crew of STS 107, but all who have lost their lives in for the continuation of Human Spaceflight. I recently PM'd back and forth with Recon Number 54 about spaceflight. The following is something that I found extremely relevant to this subject and I just thought that it was something that needs to be heard:
Humanity needs to establish itself somewhere other than just this one rock. And we're not going to get there in 747s or Humvees.
