Shadows,Decals,Specular : Yes ,but if it lags put it on "No"

Heyyo,

Np dude. ;)

Actually, since he's onna old gf4 mx440 (I believe, he probably just did a typo) then his vidcard won't even support specular, and maybe shadows too.

specular: off (if unselectable dont' worry, it's already off)
shadows: off
particles: low (you need to see at least some explosions, but careful, you won't see the flame trails of a flamethrower if you use one!)
textures: medium/high (either, doesn't really matter since the textures are already fugly anywo..)

the rest? do as Angel said. ;)

heyyo,

Pls don't double-post, next time, use the "edit post" button.

After re-evaulating, that vidcard does exist, the mx4000, but it's still not very good cause it's PCI. Do you have no AGP slot? if so? you're pretty much screwed.

go to the company page that made your videocard, abnd get the latest drivers from them for that videocard and hope that improves it (odds are no).

The 5200 isn't much of an improvement to be honest, if you're wanting to run Halo with a reasonable frame rate you're gonna need a 5600/9600. Unfortunately you really need to upgrade your CPU, ram and video card if you're going to expect a good gaming experience from today's games or those of the next couple of years. Your PC's hardware just isn't enough anymore.

Heh, I get >100 fps, but my stats are a bit skewed considering my card. Usually 40 is a good start.

You have a celeron, so already you should be looking at getting a better CPU. Your RAM isn't bad, in fact it's probably okay. But, your video card just plain sucks. Like Mard suggested, do you have an AGP slot? Otherwise, you're screwed for graphics on your current motherboard.

Heyyo,

Overclocking is a BAD idea, will void your warranty, and you won't be able to trade-in your vidcard. I suggest since you probably don't have an agp slot, to get a new mobo that supports your cpu, your ram, and has an agp slot. Asus, abit, soltek (meh, they're ok), gigabyte.. I'm sure there's other brands, but aim for those brands cause they're proven to be good.

Asus' graphics cards are usually overclocked by default, but not by much. You couldn't possibly overclock what he's got to an acceptable standard. You can't polish a turd.

Im running a PCI graphics card on my PC and HALO runs wonderfully. It's an ATI Radeon 9200SE...affordable and seemingly a perfect solution to a lack of an AGP slot. My puter is also all tweaked to hell so that could have something to do with it.

in 640 x 480 i usually get a peak of 120 and an average of 60 and lowest around maybe 20. But my card isnt that bad at all for how much i got it for.
