I came up with an idea to have a point system in Coop... So you could have more of a purpose in Online Coop... Where people are forced to work together, but compete agenist each other to see who in the round is considered the most useful player in the match... It sortive goes like this:
Beta Scoring System
In the scoring system, you get points on a number of things that you do or accomplish. The majority of the points you can earn are earned when you act more as a team then going solo as well... Killing people is the most basic way to score points, and depending on which you killed, you will get the rightful ammount of kills that you should recieve...
Grunts
Orange (basic) - 1 point
Red (Vetern) - 2 Points
Black (High ranked) - 3 Points
Jackels
Blue Shielded (Basic) - 2 points
Helmited with Blue Shield (Basic) - 3 points
Orange Shielded (Vetern) - 4 Points
Helmited with Orange Shield (vetern) - 5 Points
Brute
Basic Brute - 5 Points
Hunter
Basic Hunter - 5 points
Elites
Blue (Basic) - 4 points
Red (Vetern) - 6 points
Gold (High Ranked) - 9 points
Black (Spec OPs) - 12 points
Now, just like gainning points for killing the enemy, you can also lose points for not doing what your suppose too. a negative point also ends Combo's which I will explain in a minute... These are things you can do to lose points (also note that after a certian number you will automatically be booted from the server, the number is chosen by server admin). Negative points can also be comboed as well...
Wounding a Marine - -2 points
Killing Marine - -10 points
Wounding ODST - -5 points
Killing ODST - -25 points
Wounding (hurting an unshielded Spartan) a Spartan - -15 points
Killing a Spartan - -50 points
Wounding an objective (Special character, civilians, Prophet, ect.) - -50 points
Killing an objective - -150 points
Allowing an enemy to kill an objective - -100 (everyone)
Enemy opperated vehicles also give off points once their destroyed, you can also get or lose points when you hijact a vehicle or are hi jacked by an enemy... You also get combo for every enemy inside the vehicle at the time, so that's a good thing... Just make sure teammates are on it as well...
Ghost - 15 points
Banshee - 25 points
Wraith tank - 45 points
Dropship - 75 points
successful hijack - 10 points
Combo's are how you can make little points gain you really large ammounts of points, a combo consists of killing 2 or more enemies/enemy controled vehicles/objectives/special points withen a specific ammount of time between each kill... Each time you kill another the time limit starts over... This is how it works:
First Kill: Orange Grunt
Points awarded: 1 point
Second Kill: Blue Elite
Points awarded: 10 points
Third Kill: Basic Blue shielded only Jackel
Points Awarded: 6 points
or... first kill will give you whatever you killed points, second kill will be doubled of what the first one did, third will do the same, and it goes up to 5x their points... and continues to repeat...
1 + 1(2) + 1(3) + 1(4) + 1(5) + 1(5) + 1(5) = 25 points
Here's another idea of how it works, you threw a grenade into a group of 7 basic grunts and killed them all in a single blast, this is how it works...
There are also special points awarded to doing things properly and assisting and acting like teammates... These are the single most highest points you can get in a game without doing a combo...
Rescue a almost dead teammate - 75 points (read note)
Rescue important character/objective - 135 points
Complete objective - 75 points
Rescue Marine - 35 points
Rescue ODST - 67 points
Assist someone - 25 points
and that's how it is done... Remind you that I'm still teaking my idea, but this should give you a general idea of what I'm trying to say...
