Poll: Should you be able to board tanks(scorpions)  [closed]
HELL no-to easy, tanks meant to stay still+barrage:  28%
(20 Votes)
yes-tanks are fair game, like warthogs and ghosts:  58%
(41 Votes)
Tanks suck i could care less:  7%

undecided:  7%

Total Votes: 71

I highly doubt that you would be able to, but I am worried that in halo 2 one would be able to board and hijack a tank.....This seems unfair, because tanks are natrually slow, and a majority of the time is used to stay still and barrage the enemy base, thus making them extremely easy to take.

Just wondering about others opinion on the matter

It has already been stated in OXM that you can board not only Scorpions, but Banshees as well.

You should be able to ride a tank but not kick out the driver since he has a cage around him.

Ummmmm...... open the cage grab the driver and throw him out.... that's kinda simple... Meh. Online play wouldn't be all that fun with the jacking... you'd never drive a vehicle for fear of being jacked(no laughing).

maybe you'd have to jump on the tank and shoot the driver, pull his dead body out, and RUN IT OVER AGAIN AND AGAIN! MWHAHAHA!(sorry, i got a little carried away)

what if he sneaks up behind you? then if you try to blow him up, you get blown up too because the explosion is so close

I think you should be able to. Since its big, it could be taken over many different ways. This will also make spawn killing -blam!-es think twice before they do their stuff! Besides, if the warthog and ghost can, why not the tank?

Not a bad idea, just I think it should maybe take a couple seconds to do it because you'd need to pry open the driver canopy and yank the guy up and out, and then hop in.

The tank is a rolling death sentence anyway. A pistol, sniper, or rocket is almost an instant kill unless they have their back to you.

Well think about it... first you can see him sneaking up on your motion detector if he can get past the main gun and the four dudes sitting on the side of the tank there is still the chaingun to cut him down and if all else fails run him over

All vehicels can be boarded read he updates.

Jaime says they've finished adding "boarding" seats to all the vehicles. That means that quite apart from the vehicle-jacking stuff, every vehicle that can be boarded, sat on or otherwise utilized, now has functioning seats for real-life multiplayer and AI single-player modes.

Boy did someone drop u on your head or something.. It is to easy to take out a Driver in the Tank.. Besides The Tank isnt an Open Vehicle like The Worthog or The Ghost... These are closed by the Steel Cage...

i think that the drivers seat will be closed in so you cant snipee them out and youll have to board it or destroy it.

"One thing hardly anyone at E3 noticed, was that when you board a Warthog, instead of taking over the driver seat immediately, you simply yank the driver out – you then have to hop into the Warthog manually. A two-stage process designed to create interesting encounters on the slightly more boardable Hog"

instead of just boarding after pressing "x" there will be a sequence of events for the larger vehicles as stated above. this would make balance to the closed drivers seat and would force people to strategize. i think since there is multiple seats for boarding then multiple people will be able to try and board a vehicle at the same time and thats when the "two-stage process" and the "interesting encounters" will happen. either that or just blow it up but then you cant drive it.

I think you should be able to, but the driver can fight back WHILE the attacker is boarding. Since it would have to take a few seconds to pry the canopy open, then pull the driver up and out. Maybe the driver could smash him with the turret if he catches the dude on time.

Or maybe they will just remove the canopy. Who knows...

where did i read it (one of the latest bungie updates)?.... that they worked it so that when you jack a warthog, you yank out the driver, and actually have to 'board' it- just a little different from ghost (my interpretation, anyway). i would expect the scorpion to be the same way.
