The character in scene 4, it sounds eerily similar to what a, or THE Gravemind would say...

What do you think?

Awesome chapter Mr_Clark! This sense of action and mobilization is awesome.

May we speculate on who the 4th scene character is? And the Forerunners?

Speculate away. Remember I said a little while ago. Once this chapter is released I'm giving you guys free reign to speculate. Anything and everything.

I've uncovered Mr. Clark's secret master plan. He hasn't come up with an idea for the rest of the story so he's letting us 'speculate' so we can brainstorm for him! Brilliantly played Mr. Clark, brialliantly played. *fades into a loud evil laughter.

Okay, on a serious note... that was an amazing chapter Mr. Clark. I don't know why people thought it was short. Seriously guys, copy paste it into word and then call it short. When was the last time you sat down and wrote something that long?

I especially liked the part with "Oly Oly Oxen Free!," although you should have made it more clear what exactly MC's reaction to it was. All you said that The Arbi- erm, Aonlum, was amazed at the emotion he showed upon hearing it.

Other than that I find the chapter to be perfect. Love your work! I'll be anticipating 22.

P.S. To anyone who didn't catch my sarcasm, I was kidding about brainstorming thing.

I am in the midst of re-reading First Strike and when I heard Kelly say to an effect, "I know how", I knew it had to be the Spartans signal.

"Any guesses on who the character is in the fourth scene?"

You mean with the poem or whatever? I would guess it would be the Forerunner with Truth... Oh boy... it just hit me.

The Prophet of Law.

WHEN IS 22 COMING OUT?!?!?!? MUST HAVE CHAPTER!!!!!

Oh cmon. It was talking in the same poetic language gravemind uses. Its obviously him.

I may have misinterpreted this, but werent the Koslovic and Frieden forces trying to destroy each other. So why would they team up and steal UNSC ships together?

"Isashi buri dana...Kuroudo."

Evil....evil evil evil evil evil!

Mou! Konohito desuka?

Great chapter. I loved that opening bit. I checked on that Halo Library, for those that were wondering, and the Friedien and Koslovic forces were in fact working together. They tried to start a colony on Mars I think.

As for Clark declaring free reign on the theory stuff, I'll give a little hint.

Forerunners. Wheels within wheels. War.

Watch the way the Forerunners speak, and I think you'll notice something.

...no PM? *sniff* Noo.... Well, I suppose I should have posted more often. This review is practically the same as the one on ff.net, but I hope you don't mind.

Ah, things are finally are speeding up. Going very fast indeed... the Master Chief, Aonlum - or should I call him Arbiter again? - Kelly, Halsey, quite the collection of happenings.

I'd say the character in the fourth scene is Gravemind... but that is mere speculation and its outcome is - if I 'know' - Mr_Clark far from certain.

I found the part with Johnson somewhat... well, I don't know. It had that little thing that just seemed... right. Exactly right. Another superb chapter, Mr_Clark.

He watches every Hodgetwin video they put up...on ALL their channels. He calls them the Hodge Triplets, and considers himself the 3rd triplet. He's started talking and acting like them now. Every other line out of his mouth "Thaaas some BULLLLLL**** maaayne" or "Gotta make dem gainzzzz". He calls his biceps "gains". When he eats post-workout, he talks to his biceps, "Don't worry gains, I'm feeding you. Daddys gonna feed you, gainz *kisses biceps*".

"Oh cmon. It was talking in the same poetic language gravemind uses. Its obviously him."

I'm 99% positive it's the Prophet of Law. Here's why...

"It has returned from a destiny of which I had presumed to be concluded.

Shadow will again consume the universe, leaving nothing behind.
"

Doesn't that coincide with this quote from Truth in chapter 20?

"This is madness! The Grand Prophet of Law foresaw none of these events when he laid out the architecture of our stratagem. The Forerunner were in reclusion! Why? Why have they been awoken?"

Not to mention this...

"Atonement may be within my grasp, but will I be given the chance?"

The Prophet of Law knows the Forerunner is coming.

"Shadow will again consume the universe, leaving nothing behind."

Law knows that whether the Flood take control or the Halos go off, the Universe is screwed.

"What role I will play has yet to be decided, and nothing can be done."

For Gravemind, things CAN be done, for Law, nothing can be done.

And last, but far from the least of information...

"What I once lost now comes to me, the true origin of my being."

We know for sure now that the Forerunners created Law, and they are the true origin of his being.

Plus, why would Clark hint at something as minor as Gravemind reappearing? We all know he would of course, since they pretty much respawn. Clark would hint at this because he's brilliantly teasing us, he's trying to see if we'll get that gigantic depth of his story. Law is coming back into the story.

Now guys, come on, speculate about the Forerunners! Before this chapter came out I saw loads of folks talking about how they had "figured it all out" but now that they can finally say it they won't! I never got around to concocting a theory, so I wanna hear y'alls...

Nobody has received a PM for the last two chapters. It takes far too long these days so inless I can somehow finish a chapter on my day off, chances are I'm not able to send them out.

i liked it alot, it worked well with my short time on the internet :D, i think that it is the prophet of law coming back into the story, i mean the forerunner is like the foo is goin down, CANT YOU SEE IT PPL!! anyways it was good, it makes me happy to see that more than one spartan is still kickin, and i think that hasley and kelly are coming to the shanghelli's homeworld to pick up the chief and reandevous w/ Keyes. WHO KNOWS! btw im glad u agree w/ my clark about advent rising, it was a great game, it had good music and beautiful scenes (i especially liked the one where your're on the mission w/ the good aliens and you come to that valley with the large creatures and the water), the ending was the biggest cliffhanger though and i cant wait for the next one! ANYWAYS it was good, hope to see you all in a month :D

Chapter 22 Information

I was pretty tempted to name this chapter, "The Breaking of the Fellowship" but then I figured J.R.R Tolkien would likely come back from the dead and kick my ass so I chose a more lucrative type of title. I'll reveal it soon enough.

I picked up Burnout Legends for the PSP, its pretty darn cool, though without the Crash Mode it feels like a rip-off of Burnout instead of an actual Burnout game. I am trying to stop myself from buying Burnout Revenge for Xbox cause I want to wait for the 360 version, hopefully this thing will tie me over.

I'm waiting for Indigo Prophecy as well (Farenheit for those not in North America). It is such a dynamic original game that I can't help but love it with a desire unheard of. Should be a pretty cool game and even without playing it I'll tell you to pick it up come September 20th. For the first time in over a decade Atari has made an awesome game.

Right now I'm just lazing about waiting for Nintendo's Keynote speech at the Tokyo Game Show. They're supposedly showing off the Revolution's controller so I'm pretty excited.

Edit: Ha, I actually have played Indigo Prophecy. There was a demo earlier this month in OXM. See how much I love it, even when I play it, its so good I don't initially realize I've actually tried it.

Heh, my bro's was waiting for the Nintendo conference as well. Or well, he was waiting... I think it's started now. I was busy playing extremely frusterating games of team slayer in Halo 2. My arms burn with rage that makes me wanna slam my TV screen in with my controller. 48-48, team slayer on Beaver Creek, I was red team and the rage of battle was upon me. I lusted for my level 30 back... and this game was going to get me even closer. I jumped down off of the arch and attacked the rocket guy viciously with SMG/Magnum, blasting him till his shields were down. However, somehow, he managed to sqeeze off a rocket into my face, taking us both out.

49-49, my corpse lay twenty feet from his. We both waited, we both watched the scoreboard. I heard game over, and just as the scoreboard was calculating it, I almost screamed like a pig in sheer delight when I though red team had gained a point... but then I checked again.

50-49, Blue team.

I quiver in rage...

Wow, this could either be kinda terrible, or really really hot. I like the idea of attachments and stuff, so long as they aren't really expensive.

Edit: Too make this relavent. I'll say for those wondering who that mysterious character is in the 4th scene, the main indicator is in the first line.

I shall cut into 343 Industries Headquarters, retrieve the Halo Bible and burn any 343 Industries employee that stands in my way.

Grand Hierarch of the Covenant Elite Community!

This line?

The seed has been destroyed, but not before truth emerges.
What I once lost now comes to me, the true origin of my being.
The universe will soon be lost forever.

Hmmm, difficult. Maybe it has something to do with the Sanctuary. Maybe it could be the Forerunner in the building where Kelly and Dr. Halsey are. Maybe he means that he will get his body back from the Sanctuary. Maybe the hologram isn't a hologram, but his soul and the activation of the Sanctuary would mean that he will return to his body.

But why is he outside his body? Because of the activation of the Halo's by the Forerunners. His body could have survived inside the Sanctuary, and his soul could still supervise the Forerunner structures.

But this is just a speculation.
