Wow.... what happened? The last thing I can remember is finishing the chapter and feeling a little dizzy, now its three days later...
The only conclusion I can come up with is THIS CHAPTER WAS BRAIN OVERLOADIGNLY INSANELY GOOD!!!
Ps. My theory is that, The half-breed is the ‘forunner’ that’s hanging with the prophet of truth - cause of the whole sustenance thing, where he needs it to live and that he got sustenance from Truths soldiers but they had not been harvested ,turned into flood, so were not that nutritional and how insane it was at fighting - and to back this up, if you think about it there’s no way it was a pure blood like Fasul because they all got wiped out when the installations fired but the half-breeds could survive because they had developed counter technology to the rings (chapter 22). It can’t be gravemind because he is flood; well not entirely he is more a forunner, I think. Gravemind equates to a Forunner, “Destruction is creation. We are what they strived for, what they desired to become. – (Gravemind, Chapter 7)”. Fasul even hints to this in chapter 22 when he says, “I am not a Forerunner in true form, and I can only hope I never have to experience the truth that comes with making the transformation. ’Forerunner’ is a word that was created by the race my kind fought against”, the pain of assimilating, being destroyed then created into a ‘Gravemind’ is what he hopes he will never have to experience, even though he’s a hologram… (I use Gravemind for absence of a better name, as most likely this is a singular name like john or Cortana etc.) They were trying to use the regenerative etc. properties of the flood to live forever and the result was a Forunner; therefore, by process of elimination and smart thought process. The half-breed has to be the ‘Forunner’ dude with Dr Truth, if you go back and read chapter 22 you will find that Fasul says (cryptically) that one has awoken from its sleep etc. " the last transmission I received from the planet where the Half-Breeds sleep was quite troubling, and if what I fear is true, then this universe will need Cyriacus’ power to escape the fate", a couple of earlier chapters back-up this idea that they are in-fact the half-breeds, they are from when the prophet of truth is unwillingly sent through slip space to an unknown planet on the Forunner ship.
1. “The device fell from his hands and clattered to the ground.
By the Gods, we are heading for the birth place of the Prophets! (Chapter 15)” this is what the prophet of truth does and says at the point he realise where the Forerunner ship is going to exit slip space and land.
2. There is an evil here, one that will slaughter us all should we awaken it. (Chapter 18), Truth says this forebodingly when the Forunner ship lands on the planet after exiting slip space.
3. That,” Truth said, his voice dry and cracked. He cleared his throat, his eyes never leaving the figure that stood, watching them.
“That is a Forerunner (chapter 18).” Prophet of truth calls this half-breed misguidedly a Forunner, just like Dr Hasley etc. call Fasul's hologram a Forunner when first meeting (would go into more detail why Truth calls him a Forunner, but i'm trying to not write an essay).
4. The Forerunner was in reclusion! Why? Why have they been awoken? (Chapter 19), says this as he runs wildly back to the Forunner ship while is soldiers are being cut down around him.
I’m not going to go into the plot-line e.g. what may or may not happen, but I just thought I may add my thoughts to the widespread speculation of which there will be no end until chapter 23.
Did i just own, as in link everything together Mr Clark... Was I even close
