Ah.

....

Does anyone else read "Hagane no Renkinjutsushi" manga? I guess the name it'd be known for outside of Japan is, "Fullmetal Alchemist". Yeah, so does anyone else? I know this annoying person named Konoka does, but anybody else?

Hmm, if you do, then I hope you also read the scans fresh from Japan, because in Chapter 53, a certain thing happens with a certain character that I find parallels what is going on with Cyriacus and the Master Chief. I literally had a double-take moment as I read it, very amusing.

Anyways, I have had no time lately to do anything, but even then, the most gracious person that I am, I have found time to work on this side story I want to give you all. In the whole world there are only three writers who treat their fans with such love and adoration, and number one is ME!

All kidding aside, I have done work, small amounts, but still. I have no free time ever. My 360 has been used more by other people than myself, and I feel like a stranger when I come home and it sits there, staring at me like I've been out trancing around with other consoles, having affairs and whatnot. Its heartbreaking.

Ehhhh, I need more time! Soulguard has posted so many new and delicious chapters, and even Scorptank as well! I'm terrible! The worst!

In my place all of you must go and read soulguards stories, along with scorptank. If their threads don't reach 10,000 posts by the time I wake up, I'll kill the Master Chief off in a terrible way and then have the Covenant win the war, and the Prophets become the rulers of the universe!

Alright, so maybe I'm exaggerating. But seriously, go read those guy's stuff. They're terribly talented and awesome, and they even help out small injured animals when they meet them on the road. They're humanitarians!

I should, but if I was to start reading another fanfic then I will easily confuse them. I wont remember what went on and I will just mix the story up.

First of all, this is an excellent piece of writing I congratulate you on your dedication to all of your fans Mr. Clarke. This story is really unlike anything I have ever read before, well as far as these forums go. I've read all the other fanfic stories that I have found, but none of them really even compare to the quality of writing that I see in this story. The other stories may have all that action and the predictable outcomes of the Master Chief running in at the last moment to save the day, but that is exactly what makes their stories so lame; everything is predictable.

The End of a War however, has something that none of the other stories have, drama. This story has so much drama, it’s incredible! The reader is constantly having their emotions pulled this way and that and sometimes the amount of emotion that reaches out from this story is overwhelming. At some points in this story, things happen that the reader jumps up and yells “Oh -blam!-!” For example, the whole background story of Cyriacus and Chrysanthe and its foreshadowing of something that I think will blow what has happened in this story so for out of the water, is the result of pure brilliance. If you go where I think you're going with this, this story is going to be incredible.

Anyways, I could talk all day about how good this story is, but what I really wanted to know was exactly how does this story fit in with the actual games or is not supposed to? Is this story supposed to be occurring between Halo 2 and Halo 3 or is it supposed to be the link between Halo 2 and Halo 3 and go all the way through Halo 3? That’s all I was really wondering.

Keep up the good work and I'm looking foreword to the next chapter. Talk about a cliff hanger at the end of chapter 22. Later.

Whoops, I meant chapter 54 of "Fullmetal Alchemist". I'm talking about the manga, not the disgusting anime. That thing was an insult to mankind.

Edit:

And to answer Araquel's question, this story takes place immediately following Halo 2, and will carry the story to its completion, which will resolve the Halo universe. I wouldn't want Halo 3 to follow this storyline I've taken, mostly because it would have far too many Flood battles. And I hate the Flood.

Our master, though quite an enriching author, should be a fool if he believeth that thy creators called Bungie will do anything BUT make the icon called Halo 3 be anything less than thy fanfiction.

Hurry, brothers, we must find out if Clark is downcast with a plague that forces whosoever it touches to sputter such blasphamy out of thy mouth.

OH CLARK, our grand exalted master, will thy ever reveal the next chapter in this year they call 2005? Or shall thee take thy computer and blast it to tiny bits and force our miserable peasant selves to pillage each others food stocks in order to survive the chapter famine which shall come to smite all readers alike?

You won't see a new CHAPTER per se, but I will likely have the Side Story posted sometime this week. I do have a nice winter break coming up, but I've got a lot of things planned so who knows.

Chapter 23 will likely show up early to mid January most likely.

In other news.

For those that own 360's or plan on owning them. Don't buy Perfect Dark Zero. Its like playing the original Perfect Dark. Exactly like playing the original Perfect Dark. The AI are as dumb as they were back then. No improvements control wise, and somehow they managed to take Joanna from being a sexy mature British woman, and explore her past where she's a whiny annoying American girl. Where did she suddenly make the switch from being British to American? I can't say. Accents don't usually appear and disappear the older you get. Younger people traditionally lose accents when moving to other countries, but adults usually keep them around.

Ugh, so far the 360 is underwhelming, though Condemned and King Kong are really cool, if a little short. Right now I've got only Dead or Alive 4 to look forward to, but Itagaki-san and the other boys at Team Ninja are intent on pushing it back slowly week after week.

I wish Ninety-Nine Nights was released. Now there's a next-gen game I can get behind.

Edit: Err, guess I should've phrased that part about Perfect Dark better. I know the game's a prequel to the original title on the N64. So I guess that should read, "When did Joanna make the shift from being American, to suddenly adopting the British persona from the first game?" The Carrington Institute, I can't recall where its stationed, but considering that you travel all over the world in the game, living in the British culture wouldn't be so influencing as to make you develop an accent.

OMG! Plot holes for the win!

If you don't mind me asking what did you think of Indigo Prophecy? When John was being taken over by <insert C name here>, it reminded me of the opening scene of the game where the main character is being possessed and controlled. Any Relation or just my imagination running wild again?

Let's all watch Microsoft fail to convert Japan to the 360, and giggle with delight at their doom.

Well aside from the A.I, I'd say that almost everything in Perfect Dark Zero is a step down from the original. The storyline, and I say this frankly, could only have been contrived in about 10 minutes of brainstorming by moronic marketing executives. Seriously, if they've been working on the storyline for the past five years, there are some majorly inbred idiots working at Rare.

The aiming is terrible. I don't mind the lack of auto-aim, but for some reason absolutely everything is slowed down. I've timed it, and it can take 3 and a half seconds to turn around and face the opposite direction. You can customize things a bit, but nothing really helps.

The enemy A.I is atrocious. Basically, run into a room full of guys, fire a few rounds in their direction, then back a little bit away from the door, and watch as they charge in single file so you can shoot them nice and calm-like. This problem still exists on the higher difficulties, the only difference is that the enemy's can actually shoot their guns in straight lines.

The final stage is a joke. The ending is a joke. The second to last stage which is supposed to be a huge epic assault, is pathetic and mundane.

I've played a little of the multiplayer, but basically all those problems are still there, especially aiming, only now I have jerkss an racists shouting at me.

Fun fun fun. /end rant

Edit: And don't even get me started on the "Sneaking/stealthy" missions. They make you want to stab yourself in the -blam!-. The characters in the game even express hatred of those levels. I guess Rare wanted to show they have a sense of humor. It would have been a lot better if instead of trying to be clever, they actually made their game fun.

If your curious, at least give the game a rental, instead of plunking down cold hard cash like an idiot named Me did. Some truly dedicated Microsoft fanboy's seem to enjoy the game, so I guess there's something to love.

(Apologizes to the nice Microsoft fanboys out there. My scathing remark is directed at the people who have informed me that the aiming does not suck, but instead, I in turn am the one that sucks, and my ineptitude at all games is what causes me to express disgust at the game.)

Second Edit: Err, that -blam!- is there not because I said a dirty word. Apparently the medically accepted term for the external sac of skin enclosing the testes in most mammals is offensive and must be covered.
