Clark and I found his missing cats at a terrible hour last night. Picture this if you will:

Huddled together in front of a television, engaged in heated matches of Dead or Alive 4, and the Fight Night demo thing that appeared on the Xbox Live Marketplace awhile ago. For some reason Clark has his window open, despite the terribly cold weather (hense the 'huddled' portion of the message) and after I delivered an incredibly fatal haymaker to his characters disgruntled face in Fight Night, the terrible sounds of felines engaged in mortal combat come barreling in through the window.

Silence....

A chuckle comes from Clark, and he ponders the thought that perhaps those were the missing cats, fighting each other over the scraps of frozen meat left in those lobster traps (yes, he really did use lobster traps). Curious, I leave our small fort made of cusions and blankets to peer outside, and yes, indeed there I saw the two cats, biting each other and terrible things that cats do when feeling hungry and confrontational.

It was about 2 am or so I believe. We brought them inside and took them into the fort of cusions and blankets making the terribly annoying voices that people tend to make when speaking with cute furry animals that at the moment look incredibly pathetic. I'm also feeding them what's left of a can of tuna, that Clark originally carried with him while looking around the neighbourhood yesterday (earning many a curious look from his neighbours). Mostly I'm glad they're okay, especially considering I really didn't want to spend another day calling out their embarrasing names while freezing to death.

And for the record, despite anything he says otherwise, I was beating him at Fight Night when those cats interrupte, so technically I won the match.

4000

Edit: I cheated, I glanced over Konoka's shoulder as she finished, and saw the 3999. I couldn't help myself, such a milestone needs to be recorded as having been reached by the guy that started the thread, then quickly let it descend into chaos.

Oh, and sure, she may have won that ONE round, but I believe for the record, the overall ranking was:

Clark - 9 wins

Konoka - A dismal 5 wins (tsk tsk)

The cats real names are actually lost somewhere. Ever since I met them I've only ever heard them referred to as the nicknames that Clark gave them after they stopped being the cute cuddly kittens and grew into full-sized felines. However, his family assures me that they actually had real names at one point, but Clark destroyed them when he bestowed upon them the new names:

Pillbox and P-chan

.....don't ask. I will elaborate on P-chan though. Basically it means, Little Pig. And yes, the name fits, its a very chubby kitty.

For those wondering, Clark's intended announcement today was about the new chapter, and how we should look forward to seeing it on the weekend, in its full and completed glory.

He would have made the announcement himself, but he's had a bit of a relapse lately, health-wise, and fallen ill once again. Since his family is still away on vacation, I've adopted the role of Mother Hen, and am now imposing a strict doctrine of bed rest and lots of soup drinking. My classes are over for now, and I'm taking this semester off from school, so I've got plenty of free time on my hands, so doing this is actually kind of fun. Plus Clark gets to be a guinea pig for me, when it comes to my creating new and intricate dishes for him to test out. Luckily, so far none have killed him yet.

He bounces back from illness's all the time, so expect to hear from him soon. In the meantime, I'm practising my DoA skills. Clark has a disgustingly powerful Christie/Kasumi team that destroys my weak Nicole/Hayabusa team. I will defeat him!

For those wondering, the AIM convo's are no more because we don't have them unless strange circumstances arise. Most of the time if communication is necessary, we use cell phones or messenger pigeons.

And for Elite LDR, Clark has a link in his sig on each of his posts, that will take you to fanfiction.net, where you can read the story so far without interruptions.

I think that covers all the points, so I shall disappear once more. If all goes well, Clark will be on here moaning about my amazing DoA skills in a short time.

I'm certainly not ignoring anyone. I just don't want to mess around on Clark's friends list with him being quite out of it. If someone wants to chat, I calmly lean over his bed and ask him who the person is, and if he's not feeling irritable from his illness, then he typically gives me a sarcastic answer, something along the lines of the person being a member of the Monarchy in Croatia. He's got 94 people on his list, and most of them tend to message him quite regularily (by regularily, I mean every 30 seconds). I just leave them alone.

Clark (and I as well) despise playing DoA online, mostly because the lag issue that surrounded DoA Ultimate has not been fixed yet, and playing a fighting game with lag is about as fun as getting slapped across the face with a rotten fish.

I can't do chats either, because Clark broke his headset about three seconds into his first online game of DoA, when he got beaten by lag, and in a comical fit of outrage stood up quickly to yell at the television, but dropped the controller, and since the headset plugs into the controller, the controller snapped into an arch, and slammed into his shin. He then fell and by then the headset had fallen off, and Clark crushed the poor thing with his elbow as he went down.

It was very very funny, but he's since not bothered purchasing a new headset, mainly because they're expensive, almost to the point of being ridiculous. New Wireless Controllers cost $60 here in Edmonton, and I just about slapped the clerk across the face when he told me. Way to price gouge Microsoft.

I've also been reading over the bits of the new chapter that are ready for a simple proofread, and I must say, I really like the style for it. If anyone has accused Clark of being a fan of Sergeant Johnson, then this chapter will pretty much cement those beliefs.

Slapped across the face with a rotten fish eh.. It must be pretty bad then, me i just tend to stay away from all fighting games in general because i don't like them. FPS and RPG's for me.

and yes the sarge is an amazing guy who shall kill all the covenant bastards before they say, in terms of the halo 1 grunt, "f*uck You!"

or in terms of the elite "wort, Wort,Wort"
