Great chapter, sorry, I have been palying warhammer too much, but anyway, yeah, I loved the story, a little dragged out, but the part when you wrote about Absolon... was great, that was my favorite part, and the ending, but is fasul now an AI, I think thats it.
But anyway, great chapter, what a way to come back.. in full force.

Cheeky brat. Forcing my hand.

I posted the chapter on fanfiction.net, so for those holding out for a better format, leap on over and read it on there.

I'm not sure if anyone realized, but there was probably another 5000 or so words I originally wanted to append onto that chapter. It was supposed to end with the emergence of the Half-Breeds. Then in the following chapter I would do the introducation of the Reclaimers, skip around in their timeframe, before ending this retrospective look when the Halo Installations are activated.

But I'm not completely healed as of yet. Whatever this flu thing I have is, its consistent, and I'm still affected to the point where its a deterrent to do anything real productive.

So what I'm doing is just calling what's there the first installment of the Forerunner Chronicles, and the next chapter will be the end of it.

After that we'll be back to the action on Danrun, and I offer my sincere promise that this is the last time I ever deviate from the main storyline.

Mr. Clark, your side stories are excellent, and are fun to read. Besides the background history is really good to read and adds more dept to the story, it adds more dept to the history, the characters, and much much more. Basicly they make the whole story much much better.

........and? Did I say somewhere that only three Prophets exist?

I have been reading this story since it was only 14 chapters, so I've been silent for a while. Personally, I like to say, great job thus far! It's my first fan-fiction that I have actually read, much less enjoyed.

As far as the new chapter goes, I liked it and will wait patiently for the next chapter, which will conclude the Chronicles? No matter, still good stuff!

so, if i get this wrong. please tell me, i wont cry too hard.

anyway

there are several profits, if you recall, at the begining of Halo 2, the arbitor is on trial. on one side of the room, several elites have on white headdresses and armor, while on the other side are several profits. more than three.

in addition, Mr. Clark, i too am sick. i have a bad sinus issue right now. i also have final exams this week. it is rather misrable. and i dont even have to work, much less 2 or so jobs.
but yeah, i feel your pain.

looking forward to the hyped up MC and the withering mind of sergant J

I got his sarcasm...one person has to implement sarcasm and then you get a pile of terrorist chipmunks crashing your party, not fun at all..

Mr Clark anything you want is enough for us.

There are only three Prophets,
But these that you saw are the council,
Not Prophets..... I beleive. (I'm sure that there are more lives of the same species as the Prophets)

Let's try and limit the double posting you guys.

To clear up a situation that I still have no idea how it arose, there are three Prophet Hierarchs within the Covenant. There are likely more, but during Halo 2 you only witness three of them. The Prophet of Truth, Mercy, and Regret. My personal view is that Prophets that have earned an appendum to their title have likely earned a high position within the Covenant.

There is only one Grand Hierarch though, and that is the Grand Prophet of Law, who was the first Prophet ever birthed by the Half-Breeds, and who still currently reigns as the leader of the Covenant.

Now please let the issue die, its quite trivial.

Great Stuff by the way dude, much better than anythin else on the forums.

One thing however (and i appoligise if anyone else has already raised the issue, i couldn't be bothered to read everythin posted) is that u said that the chief is a decendent of that 1st reclaimer guy, yet he and all is familly got slaughtered by the flood and the half breeds...........just wondering if it was somet u overlooked?

cheif wasn't a decsendant of the greek person thingy, his mind was overtaken by the person with the grecian name (i cant say his name). the flood killed the grecian sounding name persons family, cheif's family was probably killed by the covie's, i dont think there is any correlation

Hello all!
My first post on these forums, but have been on fanfic for a good while. I have been following Clark's story and think it is great. Without trying to stray too off topic I wanted to address the "Grunt arbiter" question. The Arbiter is a right given out of necessity by the Sangheili race. In halo 2 the Prophets declared the arbiter, which may have caused some conflict within the Sangheili race (several fanfics have included this difference). So no, there CAN'T be a grunt arbiter, as it is not a position within their race. If you want some grunty goodness, I HIGHLY recommend Soulgard's "Stand:Five Feet High" fanfic, as it deals with the rise of a grunt king. Keep up the good work Clark, and I am in agreement with the others in that you can take all the time you want with the Forerunner chronicles, as I find this history part of it fascinating.

No, no, I'm not cutting anything short.

What I merely meant was that I ended the first installment sooner than I would have preferred. I'm not happy with that, but the alternative was waiting until I became healed to post anything, and I felt that everyone had waited long enough, so I just went ahead with what I had.

All this means is the second, and final installment of the Forerunner Chronicles is going to be substantially longer than it would have been. I had hoped to have a kind of balance between the two chapters, but now its going to lopsided.

In reality I'm sure I'm the only one bothered by this fact.

Phoenix is dead, long live Phoenix!
Is it?

True True, all we care about is the next chapter.

Oh that reminds me, any vague idea when the next chapter will be out?
