Important Information!
I'm just going to address a few PM's and questions that I've been getting a lot lately. Most of this I've said throughout a few various posts, but oh well, I'll reiterate for now.
Length of 'The End of a War'
Truthfully, I never expected this story to get as big as it has. I was aiming around 13-14 chapters, ending in an average climatic finish. Things have changed however, and as is the norm with me, this story has ballooned and is looking to be quite lengthy. Right now I'm anticipating this story to run anywhere from 21-23 chapters, and a little over 100,000 words. Typical novel length I'd say, but if you've checked some of my other stuff on fanfiction.net, you'll see some of my stories have hit the 35 chapter mark, and almost 200,000 words. I don't think even I could make this story last that long and still be believable, but hey, its an option we'll all have to look out for.
The Release Date of Chapter 12
.......yeah
Well, I've written a fair bit in these last few weeks, and I wanted to take a little break. Brothers in Arms comes out tomorrow and I'll be picking it up. The break won't be too long though, so don't start yelling at me just yet. I'll get back to writing later in the week, probably around Thursday. A normal chapter of mine would be completed for Sunday, but Chapter 12 is going to be different so it might take me an entire week to write. It'll be worth the wait however, I swear to all of you.
Just How Did you Learn to Write as Well as you Do?
Normal modesty of mine would make me say something along the lines of 'Oh no, I'm not a good writer, I'm somewhat average I think.', but since this is a question I get a lot, I figure I might as well get down to the barebones.
Practise, practise, practise, practise, practise, and more practise.
It sounds dull, but its true. Read some of my old stuff on fanfiction.net, that's the kind of stuff I used to write. Sure its not necessarily terrible, but its not anything I particularily would want to read for very long. I wrote that stuff when I was young, that's true, and over the years, with continuous writing, I've become a respectable writer. I still have a few problems however, sentence structure occasionally is a problem, and I really need to learn how to edit my writing.
I want to be an author, that's why I'm also writing original pieces of writing I'll send off to a publisher when I've finished it and fine-tuned it.
So for those of you that also enjoy writing, but feel your stuff is sub-par or just doesn't look good enough, just edit the hell out of it. If its original work throw it up on this site or if you've done fanfiction on just about anything, video games, books, comics, anime, manga, then go to this site and put it up on there.
Why Didn't you Respond to My PM? You Big Dumb Jerk!
Yeah I've gotten a few of these.
Honestly, if you ask a question in a PM, I'll answer it. Either in another PM sent to you, or if I think it pertains to the story itself, like this big post, I'll come post it in the thread itself.
I read all my PM's though, so even if your messaging me to just say thanks for the PM, I'll see it.
...There, I think that about covers everything. Thanks once again everybody, you guys are awesome.
Hmm, 100,000 words you say? We've just hit the 40,000 word mark, so that means this story isn't even half-over yet?
That bit of news just brightened my day.
