Sorry highland brute. I was getting error messages after every second PM I sent and I had originally thought they were still sending, but I guess not....which means I missed quite a few PM's....heh...uh oh.
Well its a little delayed but I've got a few things I'd like you guys to consider about the plot.
There is something that I was always a little surprised about, a question nobody ever posed. Way back in Chapter 3, when the Master Chief fires twice at the Forerunner Crystal aboard the ship he hitched a ride on from Delta Halo, and is summarily ejected from, I was wondering why nobody was curious as to why just the Master Chief was removed from the ship. There were quite a few Covenant aboard the bridge when the crystal shattered, but they've persisted onboard the ship. Also, there doesn't appear to be any kind of damage to the ship from the later scenes involving the wayward Forerunner ship.
So, why would the Master Chief be the only one that was ejected?
Now that it appears 'Eranumee is going to have a safe return to Silone (Sangheili/Elite home world), because of the Arbiter destroying the Brute ships waiting for him, what will the reactions be of the Elites that live on Silone? Word hasn't reached them of the Prophet's betrayal, due to the Covenant fleet around Danrun intercepting all outgoing transmissions.
Something tells me the Arbiter is going to play a very pivotal role, and perhaps the Master Chief as well.
Probably one of the biggest events to happen so far occurred last chapter, with the Flood not only discovering Earth, but actually landing on it. Judging from the initial arrival of the frigate Colonel Ackerson sent to the ruins of Delta Halo, its fair to assume that the Covenant ships that arrived are from the Brute fleet that showed up at Delta Halo shortly after the exit of Honor Without Mercy, and were slowly taken over by the Flood. We've all come to think that it was Gravemind who orchestrated this attack, so if he did indeed do so, does that mean he's arrived on Earth as well?
Could a rematch between Johnson and Gravemind be in the works? If so, may the Gods watch over Earth, cause I imagine the destruction caused between the two of them without the confines of a ship would be quite massive.
And on a final note here, I want to reiterate that what occurred in the Covenant history chapters is still indeed very important to the plot, and we shall see the first hints of this in the coming chapter, with the Arbiter's return to Silone.
