dude... hes 18. u dont get laid when ur 18... thats weird
That is a very scary comment, and as such I will refer to it as the 'Ambiguous Post of Horrors'.
Chapter 18 could be ready within a weeks time. It really depends I suppose, like if I were to say, magically fall into a time portal that would bend time itself to support my every whim.
I'll say a week's time it should appear, as if it has descended from the heaven's themselves, upon a platter filled with fruit and other glorious items. After digesting it, people will ring the church bells, proclaiming that indeed the good days have returned, and all is right with the world once more.
A side-note here, but has anyone around here read 'The Da Vinci Code'? I finally jumped on the bandwagon and picked it up earlier today (the version with pictures of all the places that are talked about in the book) and I have just finished it, despite the fact that I have now been up for 24 hours, and that I have worked twice in that amount of time, which is really quite a disturbing thought.
Anyways, its a totally hot book. Lots of weird conspiracy things going on in it, but oh well, its put together splendidly so no matter your religious affiliation you should still find the book an enjoyable read.
Edit: Shoulda known this would come up once more.
If you are perchance one of the many people who have PM'd me to alert me that this thread is dying, as if someone has injected a viral form within it, slowly tearing down the foundations and ensuring that it would fall into oblivion, than rest assured that I am aware of this fact.
You might find it strange that I find myself sort of pleased by this. Allow me a moment to explain, before you run off believing I do not appreciate your efforts.
When I first made the decision to transfer this story from fanfiction.net onto the Bungie forums, I did so with the expectation that I would attract a few people who were looking for a different piece of writing than the ones they were being provided with. I never really thought a cult following would somehow develop, to the point where I was hounded and threatened to be beaten if I did not write fast enough.
Such an event did occur however, and as such I stepped up the plate. Monthly updates to my writing became weekly/biweekly updates. This began to take its toll on me after awhile, and I slowed myself down, seeing as how too much forethought needed to go into my work in order for me to keep up a consistant level of quality.
With these large gaps inbetween chapters, I realized this thread will be pushed further into the depths of the forum, and while I wasn't troubled very much by this, some of you were, and for the regulars around here I felt that perhaps I needed to give you all something to talk about around here. That decision gave birth to the 'teasers' I would release, which were mainly just myself asking a series of rhetorical questions that would let everyone ponder on.
This was popular, and sparked many a debate in its time, and I enjoyed doing them.
The problem nowadays however is that we are in the far reaches of the story, where the end is beginning to grow in size. Giving away any more hints could potentially ruin the story. As such I have stopped doing so, and without these hints the conversations have understandably died down to a minium.
We are about to hit the Chapter 18 mark, and after this chapter I see perhaps only five more chapters at the most. This is decidedly less than I originally thought, but it is what I have come to realize. This means that by the beginning of summer, there persists a very good chance that 'The End of a War' will be completed.
A sad day indeed, as it will also mark an end to my contributions to the fanfic world, and a full divergence towards actual novel work. I won't dissapaer forever though, when this story is done. When the day comes that I have become a real published author, I shall do my best to drop you all a line, and give you the information.
