I had a question directed at me the other day, in regards to the statement that I would disappear after this story has been completed in the coming months.

While my presence on these forums will definitely be deminished incredibly, I will make the general announcement that if you will indeed feel depraved without my writing, than simply continue to read my inane blog, which covers everything from games to turkey sandwhiches. You may do that, or you could try to keep an even closer eye on me by adding me to MSN. A lot of you have already done that. My friends list doubled, and I feel oh so popular now. Granted my demeaner in that area of online inhabitness is somewhat uninspiring, but I do use it effectively, and often I shall include allusions and such to coming chapters within my screen name, so as to give you all something worthwhile with having me on your lists.

Outside of that I suppose e-mail correspondance is the only other way. Someone asked me for me cell number, and that is just a tad too personal for me. I had visions of someone calling me in the middle of the night to inform me that they know where I live, and they can see me right at that moment.

The weather right now is downright frightful, with dreary rain and overcast skies. It is quite depressing, especially since I wished to run around outside, but since I have a propensity for falling ill when I do such things when the weather is faulty, I am forced to sit inside and drum my fingers on the table as if I were a prisoner.

I believe I should try to do some writing though, as I recalled that the weekend is only days away, and when it rolls by and no chapter has fallen into your guy's laps, I will be tar'd and feather'd like a heretic.

'Inane blog' sounds like (sorry) the perfect description for your extremely random statements about the weather, sandwiches and turkey, and running outside and getting ill.
I hope that you are joking, or else professional help would be appropriate to a guy like you.
But.... they said that Da Vinci was crazy, and they only appreciated him after he died.....
You are not planning to die any time soon.... are you?

No pressure from me.... my lap can do without your chapter..... for another week or so.
There, I've just given you an extra 7 days..... sounds familiar....... *rewinds videotape*

I am sad to hear you will be leaving us Mr_Clark. I have not been around in a very long time and i am one of the many that has let this thread die down and i am sry for that, i really am. It jsut got to the point when i found the conversations in between the chapters boring and i just came for the Chapters whenever a PM was sent. I will put you on my freind's list Mr_Clark and i'm sry i havn't done so sooner but you're unussual name made it difficult to put it on. I eagerly wait for the next chapter and i must say that once you are gone i will disappear completely from Bungie.Net and i will soley be on 1up.com. I found 1up to be better since they talk about every video game under the sun with blogs and a bunch of extra stuff. My name on 1up is Hylian_Knight.

Well, I have an interesting question for everyone.

Do you all recall the coin that Dr. Halsey gave the Master Chief when she first met him, waaaaay back when our dear Master Chief was but a small tyke? Does he still have the coin. I read through First Strike, skimming for any mention of it but I couldn't see any references to it, so does this mean he has it? Or did he lose it at some unspecified time?

This is mainly just a musing on my part, but if you could answer this question with an answer you know to be one hundred percent true, than I shall be eternally grateful.

Oh yeah, I remember that coin now. As for where it went is another story. I suspect it will turn up in the near future, if you know what I mean. As for Mr Clark leaving yes it will be incredibly sad, but hey we all gotta move on. Oh and for some reason I can't seem to get on anyones MSN space. Does anyone else have this problem or is it just me? I really enjoyed reading Mr Clarks blog but I can't anymore. That's all folks.

In FoR, I think that right before he has his augmentation surgery done or sometime soonafter, she gives him the coin. But I'll check soon and comeback and give a page #

EDIT: well, it seems as if I'm wrong because I just looked the book over quickly, so I say that it is in the very beginning of First Strike because that is one of the few times MC sees Dr. Halsey in that story...unless shes on the Gettysburg-Ascendent Justice somehow, because I know that she leaves Eridanus II with that Chiroptera

Trully a sad announcment, Mr_Clark. I've been rather busy as of late as well and understand the desire to publish. Go forth and conquor. Thanks for your words Konoka_Chan, and I agree with you and scorptanks words.

Mr_Clark, it does sadden me that you're going to be away. But I see your point, soon the fanfic will be complete, so the "daily" pull to hit the forum won't be there. Understandable, but at least we can all rest assured that you'll be around every so often. All good things indeed come to an end, and when things start to end that is how it must be. I won't go into any farewells... you haven't left yet! So all I will say is... keep the good stuff coming. And thanks for inspiring so many.

Please, keep me posted on the next chapter. I can't wait, even though I'm swamped with work (summer time is when things get busy) I will seek it out and read it.

It is also my suspisions that the the coin was spent on some candy. He was a kid, with his friends, I'm sure the coin was taken to a store and possible used to buy.. something.

Well, I believe I read something about that coin in First Strike.
But, knowing the Master Chief, it was probably spent on some rocket launchers.....

dude he got the coin in the beginning of FoR, before he became a spartan. dr.Harley was checking out his reflexes with lutanit keyes(he wasnt a captain yet) when john was like 6 on the playground playing king of the hill.

mr clark... i noticed sumthing bout ur online name: u have the same initals as my real name.... well if ur leavin... cya

EDIT: o ya and when they first take john in the marines(cpo mendz) took it away. mendz gaved it back to john at the time where he left them to "train the next group of spartans". he said that john was fast and deady like the eagle or sumthing.

o ya and john wouldn't have used it on candy or rocket launchers... because of 3 reasons:

1)he thought it was cool
2)dr Harley said that the coin was used for currency long time ago, when humans only lived on earth. that was way before even she was borned. john wouldn't give away such artifacts
3)curreency in the future arent coins anymore, as dr harley said that it was before their time. that ment the stuff that john and the people at his time used sumthing else for money. for crist's sake, it could even be seashells. seriously though, they probly dont use bills and coins anymroe, all electronic cards

To: Mr_Clark, The coin was never mentioned again in the Books after CPO Mendez gave it back, but it was hinted at as Captain Keyes surveyed The Pillar of Autumn and spotted the Spartans modified Pelican (the one with the additional armor plating, Archer missile pods, and Shiva Warheads). It said something about the emblem with the eagle carrying the arrows painted onto the Warbird and it being the Spartan Symbol.
To: Everyone talking about John-117 spending the coin for one stupid reason or another:

1) Why are you Spamming?

2) As said in ILoveBees, the Chatters and the "Cards" worked hand in hand for payment (I.E. When Kamal was "Offline" he couldn't use his "Card." I don't know if it was an actual card or the Chatter itself, but it basicaly confirms currency did/does not consist of coins or bills or "substantial" items.)

I might be wrong but wasn't the coin taken from him when he entered Spartan training? I remember reading that he fought like hell when they tried to take it away from him, but they eventually got it or something.

Cortana: Yes, I remember. What about it?
MC: I think I dropped it in my Armour again....
Cortana: Oh no. I'm not searching down there again!

Geez guys he's not leaving completely, he just won't be lurking behind this thread any more, ready to catch unwitting billy-goats (unless I missed something and he said he really was severing all connections to bungie.net in particular and the net in general)

I must agree - it's going back a few pages but hey - fanfic threads like this really dont need to be kept on the front page, since it's so large, with so many regulars, that probably pretty much all of us have it bookmarked (Iknow I do). In fact, having the larger threads sink down a little is probably good for the rest of the posting community - it allows a little more notice to be given to the smaller threads here; particularly smaller fanfics. Can't remember who said it, but they were right - nowadays the assumption is that a new fanfic is bound to be crappy. However, this couldn't be further from the truth! Several of the more recent fanfics are if not awesome then definately exceptionally good - check out hammer's fic , Xenon's fic or even (dare I say it and risk being called big headed?) my fic , they're all relatively new, quite small threads (although hammer's is now growing well) and all very good (especially mine! lol)

umm, I'm sure there was something else I was gonna say, but I can't remember for the life of me what it was. Ah well.

Oh dear, I haven't posted for about two days. The reason behind my lack of action is that I am busy, so busy in fact, that simply writing this post is an excersize in procrastination.

If you want to know the status of Chapter 18, read the newest entry here. I cannot even take the time to write it out in this post because of the compression of my time. I shall return sometime on the weekend I imagine.
