Ok mr clark. I really like your story its kickass but i was wondering when the forrunners actually are seen by someone of something. Like when truth sees oen on its home planet and about that what happened to the prophets homeplanet to make them leave and is that planet the homeworld of the forrunners to and why do the forruner hate the prophets? lol thats one big fat run on.

Mr_Clark, your story rocks! I should have rated it a 20 out of 10. I like the part where Jan went into G14 in Chapter Eighteen and I thought Fred, Linda, and Will ran out when in truth, they turned into a zombie and created a trap.

real good chapter. i don't know if its because i read fast or what but that was short. You said it was long so i thought it would cover more than it did, but better than i could do. keep it up!

I agree with ODST1125 Johnson will probably come to her rescue and Mr. Clark don't you dare think about killing off the Master Chief.

If the MC kicks the bucket Bungie as a whole will go berserk.

And i agree too, Johnson will probably save Jan, but its all in Mr. Clarks head.

ODST, MC gold, Mater Chief

Although, Johnson may come to her rescue, you have to remember that he's still in the downed ship and has just cut off his arm. I don't think he can teleport himself to her location, can he? Anyway, I think it's going to be a while before he shows up, if he shows up at all. - LE

He watches every Hodgetwin video they put up...on ALL their channels. He calls them the Hodge Triplets, and considers himself the 3rd triplet. He's started talking and acting like them now. Every other line out of his mouth "Thaaas some BULLLLLL**** maaayne" or "Gotta make dem gainzzzz". He calls his biceps "gains". When he eats post-workout, he talks to his biceps, "Don't worry gains, I'm feeding you. Daddys gonna feed you, gainz *kisses biceps*".

".....and here I thought 18,000 words would be enough to sate your guy's appetites. Guess I have to try harder. "

You did TERRIFIC, but we people have such an appetite for your work that 18,000 words seems like just a wee bit to us. I think most folks on here enjoy a good book. That's virtually what this fanfiction is. Only, it's a GREAT book. Thank you for your time and work, good sir.

I agree with u Uberdawg. Johnson is invicible, he will manage sumtin. I honestly think that Johnson will come to her rescue after he regenarates his arm, if he still can other wise he will just become a flood. I would hate to see him turn into a hidious thing like that. Jan will manage to hold some of the flood off and remember that the marines are still there so dont count them out. Either Johnson or the marines will come to her rescue. What really is concerning me now is the fact that the prophet of truth is at his home world and he just saw a Forerunner. Is he gona try to fight it or is he gona try to be an ally. I personally think he will fight it and try to kill it so the prophets will have all the power. If the Forerunners are still alive then the prophets will not be in power any more, and they hate that.

Maybe so, we'll just have to wait and see.

I'm not so sure about that. Truth seemed pretty distraught at the sight of the Forerunner. Not to mention that he wouldn't even allow the use of his own personal hover chair for fear of them finding him. - LE

I share pies.

A forerunner eh?
As you said:
"all things that happen in this story happen for a reason"
- or something like that.

I'm interested in what the forerunner actually does...

So much delicious doom, and i want more!!
I believe that the Graveminds, if there is a plural form of the word and creature, are not the central control of the Flood, because the Flood as a race seem to have their oh so famous goal of exonefying all life hard wired in. One hardly needs a giant being telling you to hit people in the head and take their body for you own use. Its a simple task. So Gravemind may be some sort of information repository for the Flood, accessable for all, such as when they need to know how to drive something(or fly a ship to leave a ringworld.) They could also be a form of assimilationary device, like with Regret or 2401, they could absorb key figures, and learn easier methods to defeat the species.
neither of these seem very likely now that i am reading it again, but they are thoughts of mine.

Awesome chapter,Mr.Clark.Awesome.However,I wasn't entirely thrilled with a chapter solely about humanity getting the living stuffing kicked out of 'em by the Flood. Now,I like seeing that as much as the next guy(still not very much),but still the thought of it is still kind of scary, and should be taken in small doses.

Gravemind was imprisoned in that lake for a reason. There's plenty of theories going about as to how he was formed.

That he is the result of a Forerunner being infected.

That he is simply what the Flood eventually can build themselves into given enough time.

There's a bunch more, some ludacris in design, but compelling nonetheless. I won't mention the theory I lend myself towards, but I suppose there's plenty of examples in my writing so far.

Johnson pointed out a big hint in Chapter 18.

I'm sure you all also noticed I've been quite cleverly avoiding any mentions on Chapter 19's release date, and I'm going to keep doing so until I have a concrete idea of when it might be. Chapter 18 proved that I'm capable of giving release dates for chapters and then completely, totally missing them.

The chapters these days are getting much too large. I can already tell Chapter 19 will surpass the 10,000 word mark at least, which also coincidentally will push this story past the 100,000 word mark, officially making it the longest Halo fanfic around.

*sigh* I have such pathetic things I'm proud of.

Have you only released chapters 1-18 because I skipped a lot of pages on this but I was reading FanFiction.net and your story goes all the way up to 18. But if I didn't know better, I'd say this was written by a famous writer! Not saying that you're not famous or anything....Probobly over 1,000 people know you by now. I'd say that is one of the best written stories ever so far. It's so good that I can practically visualize the scenes right in my head like it's a movie or something! I bet you get about a million PM's everyday telling you that they love it and all, but heres a million and one compliments!

-j13

*edit* also, if it doesn't screw up any of your writing and crazy fans, could you maybe PM me the next chapter? If you dont have enough time, or just dont want to add it to the millions of things going on, thats ok.

Mr clark, what kind of novels do you plan to make? sci fi romance fantasy etc...

[Edited on 6/23/2005]

When he eats post-workout, he talks to his biceps, "Don't worry gains, I'm feeding you. Daddys gonna feed you, gainz *kisses biceps*".

"Johnson pointed out a big hint in Chapter 18."--The Man Hisself.

I think he's referencing this:

“You’re a lot smaller than the last time. What’s the matter? Just cause you lost you had to put yourself on a diet!” Johnson yelled. He was within range now, and stopped his suicide charge, setting the Defoliant Projector in his hands and compressed the trigger."--The Man Hisself's fanfiction.

I think Mr. Clark clearly believes that all Flood form Graveminds eventually, and since these Flood hadn't be kickin' as long, they were only able to make a smaller gravemind.

Now the question remains: can the Flood control the rest of Johnson's body? I don't think so... but they were able to start controlling his arm (BTW: that was the hardest core thing I've ever heard of, ya know, cutting your arm clean off out of badassedness). Why only his arm? Questions, questions...

But as always, look out for traitors. Every good novelist knows that traitors rock, because they make the story less predictable and more interesting.

Mr. Clark, I think that instead of writing novels, you should think about applying for a job at Bungie as Joseph Staten's gopher--I mean his right-hand man.

Traitors? People have filled up over 80 pages with a debate whether Cortana has joined the Flood or whether she is still loyal. We don't need something like that filling up this thread anymore, i mean no offense.

And as for Johnson that would to crappy to imagine, that would be to much even for some of the maniacs i've seen on this thread, no offense to maniacs and others that consider themselves maniacal.
