Apologies for the lack of chapterness. I finally had some free time today, and with a very simple push from some well-meaning friends, I went to go see King Kong with them instead of doing anything productive.

An amazing film for sure, but the experience was ruined mostly because aside from myself, Tyler, and Cooper, every single other person in the theater was a bastard. You'd think that if you actually had no intention of watching the movie or walking away with any sort of emotional investment, then you might not bother going to the movie at all. Unfortunately, this awesome logic is somehow lost on 99% of movie-goers.

First there's the people that feel the need to laugh at the stupid, boring, and insulting commercials that air before movies nowadays (I would like to kill the person who came up with that idea). If you've seen these disgusting examples of capitalism at its worst when your at home, why do they suddenly become funny when viewing them in a theater?

I counted no less than 7 previews for cookie-cutter action/comedy/romance films before the movie started, and after almost ten minutes of retarded commercials, this was sufficient to sour my mood considerably.

I won't continue onwards, but I will simply list the things that occurred once the movie started:

- two obnoxious brats start throwing pennies at people (they finally stopped when Tyler slammed a Toonie (a canadian $2 coin) off of one of their heads)

- the guy sitting on the other side of Cooper decided to make a round of phone calls

- for some reason parents brought 3 year olds who couldn't sit still and wanted to run down our aisle, then when they finally tired out, they constantly asked their parents what's going on during the most tense moments of the film

- half the audience got up and moved around at random moments during the movie, and unless they had all just drank 12 gallons of water, their shouldn't be an excuse for that

- while I'm certainly not the type to get weepy at a movie, when the audience laughs when Kong is being shot whilst protecting Ann, that is not something a normal person would find hilarious

So, I've come away tonight remembering just why I don't see movies very often anymore, and I'd offer the thoughts that its not just the crappy movies that are causing the huge decline in Hollywood revenues lately. You can also attribute it to the jackass's that frequent these movies.

Wow, my King Kong experience was quite good. I feel quite sorry for you Clark. Yeah, no one laughed at the USAAF scene. If anyone did my friend (who turns out to be an IDE hotswapping modder) would have have dropped em or at least challenged them to some kind of singing contest where violence is used.

Well, spurred on by an offer of extra credit in school and the fanfics of this site, i've started writing a fanfic of my own that, I think, is pretty decent. If you guys want me to post it, I will...just as something to do in between chapters here.

Lemme know what you guys want.

BTW, can't wait for the next chapter.

uguh...

How depressing. The Montreal Canadiens are on a super-long-extended losing streak. They just keep somehow getting worse and worse.

In the opening days of the NHL season they were second in the league, and now they are just barely in playoff contention. It makes me very depressed to see such things. Though the game against the Minnesota Wild was nice because Saku Koivu got to faceoff against his younger brother in an actual faceoff *laughs*. Very cool.

I've played some more Perfect Dark, but I am still convinced, that even though the Dark Ops modes are pretty cool, the game is one of the worst when it comes to launch titles.

After seeing King Kong I went back and played through the game again. So amazing, I love Michael Ancel. This is random, but everyone go buy Beyond Good & Evil for the Xbox, PS2, or GameCube. Any version...just buy it, so hopefully someday a sequel is made.

Now after playing the King Kong game again, I want to see the movie again *laughs*, but unfortunately I'm not willing to go through another experience like the previous one. I wish I could get a theater to myself like with Sin City when it first came out. Because Cooper and his brother know so many people that manage the Famous Players/Silvercity theater, we got to go see it a day before release, with no one else there, just us three. It was a very enjoyable movie, and I think the lack of annoying audiences helped make it better.

King Kong would be very great if the same circumstances could be applied to it, but because of how hyped it is, I guess I'll have to wait for the DVD version. But then my family will want to watch, and explaining things to my mother is not exactly great for setting the mood. Plus when I get weepy at certain moments I will feel ashamed to get misty-eyed around my mother and sister. I think I'll have to wait and watch it secretly in my room.

Because of schedule changes and another small bout of sickness on my part, I wasn't able to do much writing for the last few days. I know its aggravating (I myself am reading a story written by a very good friend of mine in England, and she hasn't updated since July) but aside from quitting my job and staying at home all day and somehow curing my very weak immune system, I don't know what I can do to help the situation. Though I would certainly leap at the chance to make myself healthy, so I can walk outside and enjoy the weather. Its good that I'm moving to the coast next summer, it should be nicer there, and in winter the weather won't be so bad. I know it won't be long before I miss winter though, not to mention my family.

In only 7 months I'm going to leave my place of residence for the past decade, and move an entire province away (very scary). Plus I hear Vancouver has a lot of drug dealers, so I'm afraid of that as well. I would always panic when some guy would approach me when I was in the arcades and ask if I want some "weed". I always thought that if I said no too harshly, he would stab me. But then again I usually take my thoughts too far.

I've never even seen anyone use drugs before, *laughs* yes I have lead a very sheltered life. The only things I've seen are when people get drunk, and even then I get very uncomfortable, mainly because having guys hit on me is not something I enjoy particularily. Drunk girls aren't much better either.

Even though I don't drink, for some reason I've always imagined my future self in some kind of weird living situation. I have this mental picture of myself decked out in a satin robe, maybe a pipe or cigar hanging in the corner of my mouth while I have a small hardcover book sitting in my lap whilst I take a sip of brandy or scotch while seated in my very luxious mahogony chair with plush leather backing. Of course that is a very odd mental picture, and since I don't smoke or drink, I guess that's an image of myself that won't ever be realized.

I think I better get some sleep...

I will admit, I covered my face with my hands at that part, haha. I'm quite a coward when it comes to very disgusting and creepy things like that. Those cockroaches were terrible, and if I was Jack Driscol, I wouldn't have cared even if Jimmy shot one off my [spoiler not typed] like that, just to have them gone would be worth the sacrifice.

And Lumpy...I didn't realize it was Andy Serkis until the last possible second, I never figured he'd have two roles in the movie.

Hmm, I was also unable to watch when Ann and the T-Rex had the pendolum swing in the vines. That was too tense for me to take, and once again had to watch through the small cracks between my fingers.

*laughs* I don't know why I go see movies that have a lot of intense moments. I'm never able to handle them, and usually embarass myself a lot. I'm very much the stereotypical girl when seeing movies. I don't scream, but I have unfortunately clutched many arms in fright, regardless of who they might belong too. It makes for very uncomfortable moments.

I think I developed too big of an emotional attachment to Kong. The first time the action stilled, and I got to see his eyes for the first time, I was in love with him. Andy Serkis is an amazing man, capable of putting so much emotion into a fictional mammal.

Hmm, I think I was supposed to go to sleep. Whoops.

Edit: Oh yes, that other thing.

I was looking into the dark and unfathomable depths of my PM list, when I saw some people asking if I was going to submit something to the FanFic contest that's apparently all the rage nowadays. Granted I have no idea what they're talking about, but I figure a contest is a contest, so it shouldn't be too hard to understand.

Anyways, yes, I do have a neat idea for a small short story, only five to ten thousand words long, but I certainly don't think I'd actually write it. Someone had told me of this contest awhile ago, and that was when I was looking at the future with star-filled eyes, where I might have time to write such things.

The idea was based around a basic average kid living on Earth. Absolutely nothing special about him. He was just living his life. Of course the main draw is that the story would take place a scant few weeks/days before the initial Covenant invasion in Halo 2. I would've gone for a first-person narrative style, using mostly a simple metaphorical outlook on the ignorance and contextual setup that everyone seemed to be living their lives in the face of the truth. That truth being of course, that the Covenant were on their way to Earth, and it would only be a matter of time before everyone was dead.

A simple idea, but I like it. Of course I'm not going to write it. I have some other things that take precedence, like say, giving you guys something to read. Granted that story itself is a "something" but its not what you all want. I can know your hearts and minds, all of your desires. Okay that's a little creepy.

It is extremely annoying when people go to the movies, dont sit still, dont shut up and TAKE MY BLOODY ARM REST! sorry bout that...
... the swinging bit with Ann and the Rex was great, dont know why you would cover your face like that, you might have missed some good bits.

Amazing how Jackson can import Humour into a tense and brutal battle.

without a doubt after, we first encountered the Covies, why would we need a super defense network against no enemy?

I understand the meaning behind bastards at the movies.
I HATE THEM ALL, FILTHY, SCREAMING BASTARDS!!!
and as for people laughing at sad moments, its really only ever acceptable if the movie absolutely sucks, and maybe not even then.

i don't know cause the war lasted a while so that kind of technology may not be availible, but if it was it would make sense because remember there were many pirates and rebels before our first encounter with the covies. and war was all over ( just not 300 mac stations maby 30)
