DERAILED
August 31st, 2006. The Forerunner Chronicles Part III - The Stillborn Universe
The first chapter after that, the glorious return to the main story, will hit in the middle of September. From then on in, it's my triumphant goal to finish the story before November, where I'm guessing both the PS3 and the Wii will launch, thus destroying any hope for work.
Fall/Winter is the season of change.
Questions lingering, shall be answered.
What purpose did the formation of the Covenant hold to the Prophets? What has the Grand Prophet of Law held back from telling the Prophet of Truth?
If Cyriacus' mind lies inside the suit of the Reclaimer, then what will happen once the suit is removed? Will John return?
What of Earth? Has it been overrun by the Flood? Has humanity abandoned their only home? Or is the fight still raging, a pitched battle between a beaten civilization and a species that has never been defeated? What of the Ark? Is it forgotten?
Where has Ackerson and the remainder of his Spartan III's fled to? Has he discovered his facility that was ravaged by Dr. Halsey and Kelly? What are his motives? Does he still see himself as humanity's would-be savior?
What is the Half-Breed's goal? He has returned to the homeworld of the Covenant, believing it holds something that awaits him, is that thing the Grand Prophet of Law? What does Truth seek other than complete supremecy of the Covenant?
Sergeant Johnson has the blood of the Flood flowing in his veins, how much longer can he remain unchanged? If he succumbs to the Flood's indomitable presence, what will happen to him?
The Arbiter, Gann Aonlum, is the last hope of his people. He carries the rage of one betrayed in the cruelest of ways. His struggle is torturous as he attempts to do what he feels he must, while making ammends for the past atrocities he committed while flying under the banner of the Covenant. His burgeoning friendship with the Master Chief has been halted, how does he view the emergence of Cyriacus? Where does the line exist, between his loyalty to the Sangheili, and his loyalty to his code of honor?
The character in the shadows, Cortana, has been unnaturally quiet. She's been silent as John was tricked by Fasul into assuming the role of the lost Reclaimer. Her motives are not clear, but one thing is. When a character that carries as much power and control as Cortana appears busy and uninterested, then there must be something big in the works. But what could it be?
What is it that drew Dr. Halsey and Kelly to Danrun, with the monitor, Atoning Deviant in their hands? The goal of the two is still unclear, but there is something that Danrun holds that they need.
Finally, deep beneath the surface of the Covenant home world, something waits. Entombed within an underground fortress, this creature has control over existence itself. It waits, it knows of the history, the present, and the future of the universe. An entity unburdened by questions of time and death, it will prove the harbinger of fate. To what side does it owe it's allegiance? Who is it to say that it does not see itself as a neutral force amidst a universe of war?
These questions, amongst others no one has asked, shall be answered in tme. Wait, gentle souls, and your patience shall be rewarded.
