When I play online, where it says like 10:00 remaining and stuff, as soon as I get in, the text turns into a bunch of blue boxes with flashing colors. When I go to check the stats by pressing F1, it is completely illedgable because the text is replaced with boxes. When I leave, and try to join a new game, or anything, change settings, etc., all the text is blue boxes, how can I fix this? I just uninstalled it, and reinstalled it, and ran a virus scan, but it still does this.

My specs are:

1.2 ghz AMD Anthlon Processor
Pentium III
128 MB RAM
128 MB Radeon 9200 Pro Series
and I have a cable modem if that helps

I would really like this fixed please ! :)

The AMD Athlon and Intel Pentium are two different processors. You need to tell us which, as the AMD at 1.2GHz and P3 at 1.2GHz run differently.

I suggest going here, download Everest, and analyze your system. Also, tell us your RAM's speed and type (the program will display this), because it seems like you need a bit more RAM. 256 is the absolute minimum n my mind, at least.

My other suggestion is to reinstall, because it sounds like your chat files are corrupted.

if anything i'd sugest it was a result of your viedo card... but it looks fine.
do you have the updated drivers? did you ever not have this problem?
does your v-card need a connection to the powersuply you might have forgotton to plug in?

if you are using catalyst version 5.1, try downgrading to 4.12

5.1 is a little glitchy sometimes...

if that isnt the problem, then reinstall display drivers, and make sure you are not using the microsoft provided ones, use ones from ati, and make sure your agp driver for your motherboard is up to date

Heyyo,

I'm thinking it could be the font. I dunno what font HaloPC uses, but I know there's a program that can change it, look for it, then try changing it to a font you know your comp has. If it still gives you the boxes? well, I dunno... maybe issues with vidcard drivers..

What version of windows are you running? Sorry if you've already said and I missed it, but that might explain some font issue as Mard explained. Also the 9200pro 128mb sounds kinda underpowered, are you runing Halo with low enough settings? Because my friend's 9200 causes graphical errors when it get's hot since it has a passive heatsink.

Whoah, where did you come from?

Geek is an improper term. I believe 'technical support agent' is better :P
