i prefer accustic. The hollow, natural sound is uncomparable to anything.

(oh, for you non-musical people, im talking about guitars)

I prefer all the effects and such on my electric, my effects pedal has an acoustic sound though.
And my electric kicks ass.

I love the electric. Lighter strings make for faster, easier playing. Hammer-ons and string bends are way easier. Harmonics are much clearer. Pick scrapes sound cooler. Palm mutes are more distinct. Plus, you can't put a whammy bar on an acoustic!

Although, acousitc is still fun to play. It's great for folksy songs, slow dance songs, and bluegrass.

Le Mediocrity. It's fun when we win, and funny when we lose!

I love to mess around with an electric, but you just can't replace the sweet tone of an acoustic. I think it's much harder to get good at acoustic, 'cause technique (in my opinion) matters so much more. Can't hide behind the effects or amp.

Devil is Double is Deuce and Joker always trumps Deuce.

Electric. AC/DC. Led Zep. Ozzy. 'Nuff said. Plus, I can't play Acoustic.

Electric, you can allways make an electric sound like an acoustic(or a chain saw for that matter) I just never got into the feel of an acoustic, let me see you jam on that acoustic in drop D flat, every acoustic I have ever played had super high action, and the brass strings get grimy real fast, and its just uncomfortable, but I have a few, including one I mounted a pickup on (EMG of course) but I like taking apart guitars and making them better, and thats not really a good thing to do with an acoustic, but you cant really play an acoustic around a camp fire, but im staying with electric!

BTW I started a guitarist group (in sig)

You can NEVER make an electric sound like an acoustic.

Sorry, didn't mean to get upset. I love a good electric. Nobody get me wrong. The tone that guys like Stevie Ray Vaughan, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Alex Lifeson (RUSH) get out of their axes is just unbelievable. But to me, it's harder to get a good tone out of an acoustic than it is electric.

the digitech prosessor I have does do justice to an acoustic, but you need a really warm tube amp to appreciate it, but I hear what your saying, but with the the right pickups and effects you can get something very close, recordable close, but it is easier to pick up an acoustic, but I just dont like the feel, but to each their own,

Works for me. I can't argue my case too strongly, 'cause I know diddly-squat about processor technology.

have you ever played like an $2000.00 acoustic, thoes are fun, with the contured backs, and EQ systems, good times, and 12 strings can be fun too, not that I have any Idea of any songs that use a 12 string, but just messing around on them is fun,

Yea. 12 strings are fun to mess with.
There is a music shop by me that had a $700 Canadian maple or something like that.
It had such a great sound and it was loud. It was awsome.

Phrog pilots, reckless and free. We would strap into our birds, set the engines on fire, and leave these earthly bonds with a chorus of WHOP WHOP WHOP. Akin to beating your chest and howling in defiance at the rest of the world.

Steel string acoustic is just perfection.

Cant play, but, as I am more into folky stuff, I chose acoustic, but both are good depending on what they are playing.

Although I would love to play an electric violin one day, nothing beats the natural sound of a constantly vibrating string resonating in a wooden box.

Yeah, 12-strings are a blast to play. They sound so cool!

Some songs that use a 12-string:
Stairway to Heaven
The Mosquito Song (Queens of the Stone Age)
Ego Brain (System of a Down)
I know a few more, but I can't think of them.

I think this thread is doing ok, even with the misspellings contained within it, it adds character (thats what I say every time I ding or chip one of my guitars)
