why do we post on these forums? i mean, we dont know each other at all. We sit here on our comp's talking to strangers. When you're outside at a bus stop, do you randomly start talking with the old lady standing in front of you? Do you tell her everything from your favorite game to where you live.

We blindly put our trust in people sitting on thier own comps. What is wrong with us? Does'nt this build up our anti-sociality because we cant interact with people face to face? I mean, we get so used to typing response after response we forget what real conversations are about. We're giving up hope on the real world. We sit by and let stuff happen behind out backs that we should be participating in, like politics, war's, protests, economic's, etc etc.

Ya, sure, we could all voice our opinions blindly on these forums, but wouldnt it help if we took a part in what matters? Couldnt we do more off our damn computers?

And thats my 2 cents.

I don't see a problem with trusting someone if you haven't met them face to face.

We are all linked by a common thread, weather you love it or hate it Halo brought us all here, there is a certain comradery that exist only in the flood, I know when I log into Bungie.net that there is a few if not a lot of people I’m going to see in here every time, I still make new friends in the real world, and enjoy new relationships on a daily basis, but as with any online encounter, here you are faceless, your not necessarily responsible for your actions, you can say things you would not normally say to someones face, you flame someone you might not if they had just said the same thing in a group setting(in fear/respect of them smashing you in the face), but you have an interesting point,

Why do you assume that we trust each other? I don't trust anyone. It is one thing to talk to people about thngs that you like and just talk. It is another, however, to give them personal information about yourself.

I hate to refund your two cents, but I don't trust a damn one of you. Actually, I'm usually mean and sarcastic on these message boards when people so much as give me an inch to do so.

I do take part in what matters, for instance last election I can easily say my vote was counted at least 20 times over, because of the people I convinced to get out there and vote for my guy. I'm not going to say who, as I don't want this to become a political (aka LONG) thread, but I seriously try my damnest to do what I can for the world (which nearly gives away who I was campaigning for).

I stick to a small circle of friends in the real world, and have a more expanded list of aquaintences and friends on the internet.

Right. I trust some people on this forum more than I trust some of my friends at school. After 8 months on these forums, i've gotten to know some people realy well. I've had AIM convos with them. I've played XBL with them. I've gotten to know them. For instance: Madcoconut laughs at everything on XBL. Crazy Potatoes has the best damn Caboose impression you've ever heard. Kroenen has a creepily deep voice and is a die-hard Braves fan. Twitch 666 is normal on XBL! Etc, etc.

Not everyone was brought here by Halo. Bungie made other greater games too! Forget not the Marathon Trilogy...

Well actually....

But seriously, I don't think it builds up antisocialism. I have plenty of friends who I talk to every day. This is something for when I'm bored. I don't plan on putting any of you down in my will, or calling you up asking for help if I am dying...I just talk to you and enjoy myself.
