That's not an Actual Warthog dude, it just looks vaguely like one. Besides why would the military use that when they already have hummers? Hummers would own the jeep any day, it only has 2 seats anyway. Come to think of it the Humvee looks more like a Warthog than that Jeep.

however they get 1 mile to 2 gallons, have a max speed of 30MPH, and hod about 30 gallons of gas

To be fair I don't think the US army have any reservations about wasting money, look at Bush's trillion dollar debt for the Iraq war.

Wrong. The hummer is good for overland/road travel and some offroad, but the hurricane is for the ultimate offroading. Read: it can climb a nearly 90-degree angle slope without hitting the ground with the bumpers. It also has the ability to dodge over almost anything.

The hummer would still be the suitable light transport and light attack vehicle, but the hurricane could act as a reconnaissance vehicle and a means of traveling in uncharted mountain ranges. I can see it being useful for things the hummer cannot do.

Most people who can afford to buy a hummer (or a range rover) would never actually take it off roading cuz they cost so damn much.

10-15 years from now if i find a used one, paint it to look like a warthog, and add a gun turet to it, but all it will do is spin with a control on the dash. if that dosent work out i'll end up turning an old SUV into a tank. i once made a chain gun out of scap metal and other parts i found and it looked so friken real when it was done, i showed it to my freinds and said it was real and they all started freekin out. they found out it was fake a week later when one of them saw that the ammo belt was emty shot gun shells filed with plaster. lol. still cool thoe.

90 degree angel? You mean it can climb verticle surfaces? Wow that's impressive. There's no such thing as uncharted mountain ranges in military terms, they certainly don't rely on recon vehicles now they have satelites to do everything for them. You can fit like 6 people in a hummer and a whole load of equipment aswell. That jeep is unnecessary, it may have power but it's not useful enough at other things, and versatility is everything. I bet it costs more than a basic hummer anyway. Oh and the hummer h2 is just a civilian thing, it's useless for military purposes. If the hummer was a PC then the hummer h2 is an xbox, think of it that way.

Heyyo,

Hummers expensive? well, maybe since they have to make them bulletproof.. but in the Philippines, you can get hummers used by the military cheap. You'll see a lot of hummers there. ;)

Hummer's ain't new, so their price dropped like most things do. another cool thing aboot hummers, is not only are they a great military vehicle and off roader, but they're pretty huge, and their box-like shape stands out in today's aerodynamic car stylings, so lots of people love them for their popularity. You know when you see a box-suv rolling down the street, it's a Hummer. ;)

H2's? I think I like H1's better. H2's look like suv's, more accurate, a bigger version of that Honda Element.. and Honda Elements are pretty fugly and don't look very good for offroad... H2's still have the power n' stuff, but I say keep the signature look of the original Hummer.

For that jeep? I'd feel more safe inna dune buggy than that jeep... the way those wheels are? more likely to roll, look at the warthog in halo, thing rolls way too easy cause the center of balance aint heavy enough to keep it on all 4's, and that jeep looks really light, and it's pretty elevated off the ground, so odds of rolling it would be pretty high.. yeah, no doors or roof? you'd die too easy. it also doesn't look big, so I don't see how they could mount a machinegun onnit... is it just me, or is that plastic for the roof's T bar? oi, talk aboot not-safe-to-roll vehicles. :p

The Hummers that you see on car lots are not the same Hummers that you will see being used by the Military for the most part. If this Jeep were to be used by the Military it would take a whole different form as it was made battle-ready. The Hummer is the one of the best vehicles for its purposes of Urban to Rural Warfare but I'm sure there are many situations where a slightly smaller, lighter, more manuverable vehicle would come in quite handy. I wouldn't want to be in one under any type of fire but when it comes to getting through rugged terrain fast I'd hop in one in a second.

In response to previous posts, I think this Jeep looks remarkably like the Warthog. You gotta realize that the new kids on the block in the video game design world as well as the automotive design world probably graduated from the same graphics design schools. You will start to see more and more vehicles that look like they were designed after video games or movies as our generation takes full control of the industry.

All I want to know is who's gonna make me a Banshee???

ZaphodBeeblebrox's comments are so true. Being an aircraft designer once there are close ties between all of the R&D projects in military and commercial vehicles since designers are constantly looking for the Ideas that will make them the corporate hero for the day.

The warthogs in the game ( by the way warthog was given the name because of the toughness reputation of the A-10). The Defender by Range Rover, The Jeep, and The Hum-V were thought of when the warthogs in this game were made. Didnt want to spend time on ridiculous detail of battle readiness. By the way did anyone notice the tires are connected to swing arms by what looks like a ball joint. That is a new idea. wonder if it would work.

I agree that a real life Banshee would bring us into the Jetsons era and put me on the list for one as well. Probably would be pretty noisy assuming they really could fly.

Someone made the comment a while back that the jeep would be useful for the military. In the game, you notice that while using the warthog, chief takes most of the shots, and his overshield is what stops you from dying, not the warthog itself. Unless youre suggesting that marines will have standard-issue overshields, the warthog would be useless in real life if its driver was killed.
