Cronin's Law----The New Flood Drinking Game

I know many people who will buy a game, beat it, and then it will just sit on their shelf for eternity... whats with that? I mean, I'll play a game for months at a time, over and over again, first time for the plot/experience, 2nd time for the atmosphere, 3rd time for the gameplay, and subsequent times to master the game... when I finally put the game down, its only untill I can complete a full rotation of all my other games... why do most people not do this?

And how do you do it?

I play a game, then weigh how much fun it could be to play it again. If I think there will be enough second-time content to have fun through the entire thing (such as an infinite-ammo rocket launcher in Resident Evil 4), then I'll go back and do it again.

If I see no reason to play it again I don't - ever.

I play a game through once, and once I have gone through the entire story, it sits in some dark vault under my house for all eternity (doing nothing but collect dust, like you said). After I finish a game, it just isn't interesting for me anymore. Of course there's Halo and Halo 2. Those games never bore me, but just about everything else does.

I usually like to buy games for either online or story. If it's for story(KOTOR) I'll play it once and will be added to my ultimate collection of games that I'm making(for Xbox).

Personally, I enjoy the game if has lots of modes and replay value. Also i greatly appreaciate humor in a videogame. If it has these things i dont care about plot. Actually if the game is fun I dont care about plot. Guess which game I described above? I'll give you a hint. It starts with T and ends with Ime splitters 2.

I try to play my games as much as often except Halo 2 it gets boring because I beat the game on legendary my brother is grounded and my network card(in the motherboard of the xbx) is fried so I can't go online. So I'm really bored so I play RE4 over and over and I play World of Outlaws: Sprint Racing.

I replay some games, but they have to be VERY good for me to do so, such as Halo 1 Halo 2, and Metroid Prime, among others. Most of the time I just let them sit there or I trade them in (even though I know I'll get ripped off).

Thats the beuty of my system... I play games in this order, usually playing through the SP mode several times, with the exception of RPGs listed:

Halo1
Halo2
Ghost Recon2
Raven Shield
WarcraftIII
frozen throne
Icewind dale
icewind dale II
Ghost Recon
BF1942 (just play online alot)
AoEII
Splinter Cell
Morrowind
StarCraft
StarCraft: Brood War
----
For the RPGs, I won't beat them, just play for a few weeks. For the FPS's and RTS's I usually spend a few weeks playing through the SP campaign and indulging in MP (if available). Works wonders. Everytime I pick the game up again, it is as if it is new!

I go through stages, where I kind of get hooked on a certain game. Right now I'm in a NHL 2005 stage.

However I always play Halo 2.
