if they were to port halo 2 to the pc and make it look and play as good as the xbox, no home pc would run it, halo 1 barely used much of the xbox's power, and yet on pc for its best graphics you need a almost top of the range comp. now halo 2 takes the xbox to its utmost max, which is many times more complex, and has many more things happening at the same time.
This is just so wrong, I just don't know where to start. Yes, Halo 2 does push the Xbox to its limits, but it should also be apparent to even a retarded monkey that the Xbox isn't up to the task. Don't get me wrong - I love the game, but I found many of the surface textures muddy, weak and low rez- lots of 'jaggies' and character models are 2-3 years BEHIND what they're routinely accomplishing on the PC. Same is true for vehicles - take a peak at UT2K4 and the vehicles in that game stomp Halo 2's into the ground for shear quality and detail. And they screwed themselves on frame rates and image quality overall by bump mapping damn near everything, when many PC games are moving beyond bump mapping to better shader models, meshes. Plus, the Xbox doesn't have the advantage of Shader 2.0 and 2.X or DX9c.
so basically, for halo 2 to run on the pc whith graphics worthy of being compared to the xbox version, it would need double the the gamin power any top notch pc has to offer. and its wuite clear that bungie and ms are thinking the same way, cause they havent even made plans to begin a pc version.
Again, wrong. The reason why Halo didn't run so great on some PCs (it runs, btw, great on all 4 of my machines, including my 1.4 Ghz Vaio laptop), is it's pretty clear that Gearbox did a piss poor port job on it. One would hope that Bungie/M$ won' make that mistke agan. Second, the Xbox is a PC-based gaming machine, unlike a PC which does everything an Xbox can't and also plays games. So there has to be a compromise in there somewhere.
alternative: get an xbox, its cheaper, runs smoother, has the best online experience any game can offer, and like the first halo plays and feels better on the xbox.
Yu're quoting your opnion as if it wer fact, which it isn't. There are plenty of PC games that have staggeringly good on line multi-play and rock solid servers- anything by Blizzard springs to mind, along with Sony's own dedicated servers for Galaxies and EverCrack, plus City of Heroes, Anarchy Online, etc. etc.
