What is more popular for Halo, XLink or XBC?

XBC. There are very few people on XBC. There is like no one on XLink.

It's a shame too. XBC used to be fun when you had a few friends but not enough to LAN. I remember a few times when we got hooked up with some guys with a great connection. I felt like there was no lag, and we just have huge, 2 hour CTF (with touch return) matches on Blood Gulch and Sidewinder...ahh, the good old days. : )

It's definitely a shame. Not too long after Halo was released, I remember using Gamespy Tunnel. I believe that was the first one. Anyway, I didn't really need to use it a whole lot, since LAN games were easy enough to come by in high school. In college, I lived with enough Halo players to play those epic Blood Gulch and Sidewinder CTF games pretty often. I didn't really have to use XBC too much then either.

Now that a lot of people have graduated, XBC is not really available, and we now have to play Halo 3 on live. It's hard to replicate that experience without touch return and being able to drive with the flag. To make it even worse, there's no custom games browser, and there are strict ping requirements for LAN games, preventing XBC usage. Then they "reimagine" Sidewinder, and change almost everything that made it great. They specifically change the map to prevent those epic 2 hour CTF matches. That decision is beyond anything I can even begin to comprehend. Yet, people complain more about Blackout.
