ok so i'm thinking about actually creating an energy sword from something like fiberglass. i've never seen one that is lifesize on the market. what would really be cool is if it was glass and was like those things you touch and they have electricity in them and it goes to your finger. of course this is only going to be for display purposes only. i don't have access to anything too complex. fiberglass seems to be my only option, and that's from experience on my car. another idea would be clear plastic and run neon tubes inside of it to make it glow, there could be batteries in the handle altho if it's for display only then i suppose it wouldn't need batteries, you could run a power supply up to the handle tho, if you hide it. oh well this is just an idea and i will probably start making a template now so i can begin making a structure to start fiberglassing. any ideas that would help are greatly appreciated.

You could try making a glass one, filling it with inert gases, and putting an electrode in the handle. If you pass a fairly high voltage through it, with a rapidly alternating current, it will have a plasma ball effect (this is how they are made). I suggest doing some research first though, if you choose this option.

If you knew some one who can make cool neon signs then that migh work. It'll probibly get real hot so be careful and insulate the handle real well.

That would actually be pretty cool. Good luck to you in making it.
