Could any Americans please help me with an application form (for a University scholarship application) that was written by an American company?

First (and please correct me if I am wrong), I think I am right in saying that in America you go to high school from 14 to 18. What important grades are you given at high school at any age?

At what age do you go to university? Are your colleges the same as a University? (they are not in England)

What is Freshman year? What is a 7th semester transcript?

Why do people in ship mutinies always ask for "better treatment"? I'd ask for a pinball machine, because with all that rocking back and forth, you'd get a lot of free games.

Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words - "mank" and "ind". What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.

I am in highschool I probanly can help you out in most everything except the &th sem. transcript

you go HS in America when you are 14 and graduate when you are 18 unless you were put down/up a grade sometime.

I trhink colledges are only different because you don't need a high GPA (I know to get to UW you need a 3.8)

We also have other schools to get masters degrees Ph.Ds

Your freshman year is you first year at a HS or University.

Thanks for the help. What is a GPA? (Grade Point Average?) What Grades do you get when you graduate? A,B,C? 1,2,3? Something else? What are the highest and lowest grades?

One part of the application says to list any scholastic honors. What types of things does this include?

What do you study at college/university? A degree?

I would appreciate any help.

We’ve watched while the stars burned
Out, and creation played in reverse.
The Universe freezing in half-light.
Once I thought to escape.
To end a master, step out of the
Path of collapse. Escape would make us God.
Yet I cannot help but remember one enigma,
A hybrid, elusive destroyer.
This is the one mystery I have not solved.
The only element unaccounted for.

The grades are A, B, C, D, and F. You can get a plus or mius for most of the grades (There is no A+, F+, or F-) for different amounts of credit. GPA does indeed mean Grade Point Average, and the following list shows what you get for each grade, and the percent you need in each class for that grade.
A: 4.0 (93-100%)
A-: 3.7 (90-93%)
B+: 3.3 (87-90%)
B: 3.0 (83-87%)
B-: 2.7 (80-83%)
C+: 2.3 (77-80%)
C: 2.0 (73-77%)
C-: 1.7 (70-73%)
D+: 1.3 (67-70%)
D: 1.0 (63-67%)
D-: .7 (60-63%)
F: 0.0 (you don't pass) (<60%)

You generally want higher than a 3.5 if you are looking to get into a good college or a University. The very best, such as Harvard, will almost exclusively accept 4.0 students. Also, make sure to check if you have met the entry requirements for the school you are looking in to. For example, many schools require that you have completed a Biology course, but others do not.

I am not entirely sure about the honors, but I would guess that they are any special acknowledgements you have received for academic acheivement, such as winning a science fair or math competition. It may also mean extra curricular (sp?) activities, but as I said, don't take my word on this.

In college you study several general subjects according to the college requirements, as well as studying a specific subject for a degree, of which there are three levels. Bachaelors (sp?) is the lowest, followed by a Masters degree and, at the high end, a Doctorate. For the best jobs you would want a doctorate.

Sorry if you already knew some of this, I was just listing what I know.
